  • Thanks to everyone in this thread, its helped me get alot more motivated in de cluterring my flat, i am the worse hoarder i know ( i think i need councilling for it lol)

Im not a member of this thread but have sold 9 items on ebay this month already and have 22 items listed on Ebay, i have been at the post office every week since November:j

Can someone please help me with a quick question, I have a bidder in Germany for a designer jumper so want to send it 'signed for' it weighs 450g with packaging, sorry if im being silly but what is the difference between these two options?

International Signed For 3 days Up to £39 Within UK £9.11

International Signed For Small Packets 3 days Up to £39 Within UK £7.02

A thin jumper would be a small packet right? Never understood the 1st option!

Also,I like International buyers, especially when its a item that should be free postage to UK and you can then charge them, like cds books etc

  • Hello all, not been back for a while reality came a knocking and slapped me very hard! Chaos has returned to my house, we went back to college, the children have gone back to school and nursery and ive also started my avon.
I havent done anything money making in the last week but have started to gather things that can go on ebay and am yet to venture into the loft even though i know there are many, many treasures that will fetch me a few quid up there i just havent got the time at the moment.

I am feeling very defeated today so have come for a bit of inspiration and motivation! My car has died in every way possible so had to dash out for another until oh has time to fix mine which is very frustrating because i know it's going to take him bout a month to get round to it which means it has to live in the garage i was going to return, which is more rent not to mention parts

Sorry for the rant, feel like i hav etaken 50 steps backwards and that everything is out of my control at the mo.

But, on the plus side you are all motoring on really well have only read a few pages (only popped in for a v.quick pick me up lol) but shall read more later no doubt ill feel better after that!

Keep up the good work evryone :T

Thanks mambury and natnat13. Willl definetely see if there is any interest in this.

Bad news, I went into work to sort out going back part time after my maternity ends and I have been told this will only happen if its in the businesses interest!! I can't afford to pay childcare if I'm fulltime. Everyone else in the past has got this no problem but 'times have changed' apparently. They can take up to 6 weeks to give me a decision . I need to give 30 days notice if I want to quit. So annoyed, I've been told since October 2008 that this would be fine (not in writing unfortunately)

So annoyed, I just want to cry. I can't look for another job until I know if I get the hift swap or not. So I'm in a limbo atm. Really can't afford to not work  Sorry I had to vent!
  • Sorry to hear about your work problem Nikki, feel really guilty for posting my rant now, seems so trivial. Hope things work out for you x
  • Nikki - Remember that a verbal contract is just as good as a written one, it's just harder to prove. I'd recommend talking to ACAS or your union, or even going to CAB and talking to them. I'm sure that there is alot more that can be done then just waiting for them to decide, and surely they'd have to have a good reason to reject your idea if everyone else has been allowed.

I've got my fingers crossed for you :)

My sister had this problem recently and like you no-one else had a problem going back to work part-time but her. But the company cited business reasons, recession etc etc and in the end she had to leave as her full time job was left open for her but not a part-time one. I think companies are on a very sticky wicket with this so good luck with it all hunny, you never know what is around the corner. My sister has found a part-time job with better money and next door to the Nursery.

    Lots of hugs xxx

  • I'd like to join too please!

Sold a phone last night so now have £160.00 sitting nicely in my paypal. Don't want to withdraw it yet, as I'm thinking I can use this £160.00 online somehow to make a profit. Looking for any phones that don't meet there expected price so I could buy it, relist it nicely and end it at a better time to attract more bids.

However, I've had little luck so far. I also was thinking about buying bulk wholesale, but A) Have no clue what to buy, B) don't know any wholesalers.

    Anyone here invest in pennystocks?

    Welcome shakey,

I used to dabble, and loved it, but it became too tricky for me at the start of the crash and I dragged myself away, as I never managed to master short selling. Really used to enjoy the 'stock challenge' on ADVFN though. Have you had much success?

Thanks for the bean tip Cally. I now have a cupboard full of beans .
