    Hi everyone
Not updated for about 10 days but still cracking on with the challenge. Now up to £354 which is ok but the last week has been pretty slow.
I have done well in getting a fair amount of stock but can't sell on until the spring boot sales start up (the stuff is not best suited to ebay as the market is flooded there) So feeling a bit flat about that as my usual impatient nature is winning through:rolleyes:

In the meantime I am going to concentrate on 'saving' from my usual budget and if I get brave enough some matched betting. Bought a pile of seeds for both my new allotment and for a few extras to sell on (99p shop had lots in at 4 packs for 99p:T) Also need to do some major research into car insurance for Feb and booking holiday. Money has been put aside for these already but if I can spend less I can 're-earn' it for something else!!:D

Some people mentioned allowable expenses for an office in their house etc. For those where Capital Gains could be an issue in the future you are best apportioning time for use of home office (the HMRC will likely take the view on this being fair regardless of Capital Gains potential) so if you use the home office for 30% of the day and the family have use of the room for surfing the net or doing homework etc. i.e. the room is still part of the family residence then I think the Capital Gains issue is irrelevant and the tax should be happy that you are having a true and fair view of the use of the room. So if the home office makes up 25% of the house / flat then they would be happy for you to apportion 30% (time based) of 25% of the general house expenses eg heat / light etc. Again apportion phone use or better still itemise calls made specifically for business with a fair proportion of line rental (assuming you don't have a fixed separate line for th business initially). There are examples on the HMRC site (sorry haven't got a direct link but go via the HMRC links on the first page of the thread and have a look around). Hope this helps a bit (and doesn't make it even more confusing ;)).
