I raided the garage today with a view to gathering things for my carboot. From this, i bagged up three bags of clothes for the charity shop. I found lots of old sentimental belongings that are now scattered around my house to be kept - and ultimately boxed up a grand total of THREE things for the bootsale. Since i've started this thread, my life has become more cluttered and i've got no more money than i had at the start of the year. I'm again feeling pretty useless but remain determined and inspired by all your ideas. Thank you - keep them coming :) I wish i had a few tips to share - maybe in the next few months! Cheers guys xx

Don't worry - I found it difficult to make a break, but once you start you can't stop. With regards to digging out stuff to sell, you really have to be brutal - once you've gone through a bulk of stuff, maybe get OH to go through it afterwards, ask him to be kind but brutal. Its easy to decide to keep things - its easier and quicker to keep them rather than list on ebay or sort for the carboot isnt it!

I had (and still have) a load of stuff which I need to ebay and since making a start yesterday with some books, i'm on a roll - havent stopped visiting the recommended sites and researching products.

Maybe start off with one section of things, i/e clothes, or CDs or books - make it into smaller chucks rather than just trying to do it all at once in one go?

Good luck and stay positive :j

Really impressed with everyone's efforts and progress today ... I on the other hand have been totally useless ( ... the rolling over for more sleep this morning didn't help any ;)). I did finally manage to catch up on domestic chores (mostly neglected this week due to this thread) but in terms of the challenge, today so far has been a non starter (except for a couple of bids on ebay :)).

In a vain attempt to provide myself with a suitable kick in the behind I changed my signiture to something proactive, but the site won't let me make any text bigger than tiny ... I need something a tad larger just so that I can't ignore it when I post (a little self nagging goes along way;)). I keep getting message BB too big and it won't let me do it ... I was only going up 1 font size not creating a poster add or anything ... anyone know what the score is with this?

I'll post this useful ebay tools site again as it got lost on the previous thread, maybe it can be added to the first post as a link?

    www.goofbay.com

Carcon, I've added it to my sheet along with lots of others that are popping up. I'll update it once a week and hopefully bing0 will be good enough to update the front page too.

    Keep those links coming :)

I've got my first lot of items coming to an end on eBay at 8pm. I'm sooo excited - you'd think I was going to make hundreds on them, (they are at £8 total so far!!). But it still feels good :P

I have found a few opportunities on ebay by searching for job lots in advanced search and ticking collecyion only and stating a distance i am happy to travel, some toys i am hoping to bid on depending on reply to my question. thre is also a local company i can buy a pallet of shoe rack/mirrir caddies, 13 units on pallet and pallet is £50, but RRP is 59.99 per unit, they are flat packed, so may be something to look into in the future perhaps if i can do car boots (although think i may need to find a van at this rate, lol), but until i start making some money back on initial investment i havent got it to buy yet, fingers crossed though i find some good items using this method in the near future :) anyways sharing how i am fidning items as it may be useful to others
Thanks to all who post comps :T
