LMAO I doubt the op would want to work for you either.
To the OP just things have a way of getting out, i'd suggest not pursuing it let it lie. Work with your manager at the hearing to identify where you are going wrong or what is stopping you from achieving the targets that are set.
Good luck:beer:Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
Excuse to get rid of you?
Most of them you justified in your OP.
As far as what the woman said online, from what you gave said, its true. It doesn't sound to me at all like anyone is picking on you.
It does however sound as though your bosses and your work colleagues are tired of your attitude, performance and general lack of interest and wish to sack you.
Typical Woody makes observations based on conjecture. I really dread to think what your poor employees have to put up with on a daily business.0 -
the letter only says what i typed earlier. nothing else other than my name and the office managers name at the bottom. I didn't know if i could take my other half as a witness.0

As said in some of the senisble replies both issues are different.
1. Your poor performance should be treated under the capability procedure, do they have one? If you have had previous warnings about your performance then they are right to proceed into discplinary proceedings. If you have had no previous mention then your defence could simply be that you need more training/guidance etc.....in other words force them to use their capability procedure.
2. How did this girl know about the discplinary, raise it as a grievance as you believe it is a breach of confidentiality between the employer and employee. They may decide to combing the discplinary and grievance proceedings as they are about the same thing, ie the discplinary.
Thats the way I would take it personally.0 -

i think it has to be a co worker or trade union official.0 -
Thanks to everyone for their help and advice I really appriciate it. To the others I am quite aware of how poorly I have performed and when you work in an office where everyone has a knife in their back from virtually everyone else it doesn't exactly make it a happy office at any time. The girl who discussed me on facebook has recieved several disaplinarys her self for attitude, !!!!!ing and bullying and has been with the company 10 months. Her main grievance with me is that i earn more comission than she does with little effort. The fact that i am the longest serving member of staff in sales at 6 years and have organised most of my "using" customers to email or fax their orders over seems to be irrelevant. I am also quite aware that i will be leaving my position within the company as the atmosphere will be unbearable even if i only get a written warning. This particualar person is out to ensure I go no matter what.0

1, Face book entry was today. i work monday to friday and don't use facebook at work although others do (thats why they got a disaplinery)
2 The job i do is telesales but has no targets. We are encorouged firstlky to gain as much profit through sales as possible. I am generally 3rd or 4th int the office out of 6 each month for sales. The person eho made the comments has beaten my sales twice in the last 10 months that shes been there and one of those i was on two weeks holiday. On friday she made 60 phone calls and generated £220 for the company, i made 13 calls and made over £600 profit. This happens must of the time. One particaular day she had made over 100 calls and made £98 profit and that day i made £900+These figures is what you need to talk about in your meeting and if you have written documents highlightiing them, even better.

You'd never be offered a job working for me with your inability to correctly read a simple paragraph of text."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I think maybe you should call ACAS first. Im not sure giving them letters at the start of the meeting is good idea as will only make them more cautious of what they say. Pretty sure you cant take your boyfriend. Has to be a collague or trade union rep. I think.
Have a read of this and first and give them a call if you want any clarification prior to the meeting. They are very helpful.
