Asda Cancelled Order Twice - Was told Guaranteed Delivery

Surely looking out of your window and looking at the weather forecast you should have realised that there was no way anyone could guarantee you a delivery. Who knows what the weather is going to be like in two or three days time. I'm not saying it was good service but in this weather I wouldn't be banking on any delivery times anyone gave me.
Hmm...problem with that is that our little Nissan can get through - yet Asda's whopping truck can't?:rolleyes:0 -
Just called the Asda's incredibly poor CS - she was happy to re-book my order again and hey! guess what! she GUARANTEED it!!!!
Of course, when your thousands of miles away in South Africa (they sound SA) it's easy to do that. I said to her "Am I correct in thinking that you are happy to rebook orders over and over again and you've just told me that it will come even though the store may call me tomorrow and cancel it again?"
"Yes, Ma'am"
Bravo Asda....bravo....

I am with Storck here. Having taken a truck to Gloucestershire this week, I can confirm that in places driving conditions were very difficult. The driver has to make a decision about what and what isn't safe, just because your customer services department says you are going to drive down a steep hill on sheet ice doesn't mean you should. The safety of yourself and other drivers/homeowners/pedestrians surely has to be more important than an individual grocery order.0

I'm bang in Gateshead Town Centre....
Just up the road from you - we stopped using Asda when they cancelled an order 3 days before christmas and didn't bother telling anyone until we rang up to ask where it was. Apparently it was to busy for delivery drivers to go out for any deliveries.
There certainly isn't any problems in and around the town centre, futher up where I am the side roads have been blocked but its always worse on the roads here as where on top of a hill but its all melting now.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -

Those of you who are having problems with Asda and Tesco deliveries might want to consider ordering basic supplies through your milkman if you can't get to a shop easily. If you look at the Dairy Crest website, there is a link to their "Milk and More" site which tells you if this service is available in your area. I had two deliveries from Tesco cancelled this week, but my milkman managed to get to my village each day that he was due, despite really bad conditions on a couple of those days. They don't have a lot to choose from but you can get the basics (all dairy products, eggs, bread, cereal, bacon, potatoes) at a day's notice, and -- if you order more in advance - they do fruit and veg boxes too.3-6 Month Emergency Fund #14: £9000 / £10,0000
