Just trying to think sense in it or will have to look around for a solicitor, who's fees would be more reasonable and potential for my compensation greater?
As I've already posted, ignore what the solicitors fees are, they will have no bearing on what your award is likely to be.

    Thanks!
It does clear up the issue to degree, though have rather bitter after-taste still
Now... would anybody have an idea as for good lawyers near Guildford (to see weather I do have an alternative)?:j
    Thanks!

I think the OP was explaining that he hadn't worked a full 12 months for this company, which isn't really relevant anyway.

Ahh. I see it now, most of the OP's posts seem to be in some kind of code.

Code is known as "stressed and confused somebody asking for advice"

Wow this thread was hard to read lol. From what I am reading (and maybe I am way off) is the OP is concerned that the solicitors fees are going to be more than the compensation. Are you saying you would rather find a cheaper solicitor you get a bigger slice of the pie??
As others have said it doesn't really work like that as your compensation award is not relevant to the court/solicitor fees. IF they believe you should be awarded with £1 or £1mil the fees/charges are still going to be the same and will be dealt with after your claim.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

I think if the posts were clearer, you would have had the correct response a long time ago.

The amount of the compensation award bears no relevance to the legal procedure for getting it awarded.

If they are anticipating a payout of £1,500 - £2,500, it makes no odds if the legal fees are £5k or £1 million, you are still going to get £1,500 - £2,500 in your pocket.

Should have been a solicitor, they make all the money.

EDIT : Pitkin beat me to it. :)

Why ? A judge will award compensation plus costs. So it doesn't effect your compensation

    Hello everyone!,
In September I have had Injury @ work (glass shattered on my face, got fairly nasty cut on the nose), got sacked in December(unrelated incident + didn't work for 12 mont for them) and decided to do something about it (IE to get plastic surgery to get nose fixed or to get some compensation)
Contacted National Accident Helpline and after lenghty phone call got clarified about such claim being possible, however compensation is likely to be £1500-£2500 and hardly is going to be Operation on the nose covering or recommended on Medical grounds.
Got the letter from solicitor to sign, in order to proceed with case, where no win - no fee, but expectant charges to my ex-employer/his insurer likely to be £5000-£10 000...
Speechless! just have no clue weather I should look for better value lawyer or what to do about the case?
Thanks in advance for any advice regarding matter!

Cosmetic surgery is usually available on the NHS for facial disfigurements. Have you looked into this?
    Gone ... or have I?

At least the solicitors are working for their money rather than trying to blag some compensation which in the end costs everyone.
