Injury lawyer requered (Guildford, Surrey)

Hello everyone!,
In September I have had Injury @ work (glass shattered on my face, got fairly nasty cut on the nose), got sacked in December(unrelated incident + didn't work for 12 mont for them) and decided to do something about it (IE to get plastic surgery to get nose fixed or to get some compensation)
Contacted National Accident Helpline and after lenghty phone call got clarified about such claim being possible, however compensation is likely to be £1500-£2500 and hardly is going to be Operation on the nose covering or recommended on Medical grounds.
Got the letter from solicitor to sign, in order to proceed with case, where no win - no fee, but expectant charges to my ex-employer/his insurer likely to be £5000-£10 000...
Speechless! just have no clue weather I should look for better value lawyer or what to do about the case?
Thanks in advance for any advice regarding matter!

Sorry that didn't make much sense. What do you mean charges of £5-10k?0

in case of win- I'd get: 1.5-2.5K
Lawyers: 5-10K (expected cost of case), that would have to be paid by either ex-employer or his insurer...
In case of no win (or in case compensation received by me would be ie £10)- cost of claim by the Solicitor - same....0 -
If your compensation is going to be around £2500 then this is likely to be the same regardless of who you use. The solicitors costs have no relevance for you and is between them and the third-party's insurer. As long as you're guaranteed 100% compensation then their costs have no bearing on your award.
I also don't understand the first part of your post. You say you were injured in Sept. and then sacked in Dec. yet you then go onto say that you didn't work for them for 12 months.Which years are we talking about?

In case of no win, your no-win, no-fee solicitor should take out an after-the-event legal expenses indemnity policy to cover you for the liability of the other side's costs.0

I've worked for them since April, accident happened in September, and laid off in unrelated incident in December. To lay off somebody, that did not work for 12 month- you dont even need to explain as why (sad truth...)- it is still have nothing (officially) to do with injury.0 -
What year are we in??
You were sacked in December, then didn't work for 12 Months??
So you were sacked in December 2008??
Or did you not work for 12 Months, and then got a job in April 09 where you worked until the accident in Sep 09 and got sacked in....... ahhh never mind, can't be bothered....0 -

Just trying to think sense in it or will have to look around for a solicitor, who's fees would be more reasonable and potential for my compensation greater?:rolleyes:0 -

I think the OP was explaining that he hadn't worked a full 12 months for this company, which isn't really relevant anyway.0

Your potential compensation will be the same regardless of which solicitors you use. Of course a good solicitor is always worth having but the amount they charge is not necessarily an indicator of their competence.
Fees are not your concern as they are payable by the other side; if you get a cheaper solicitor you will not get more compensation - it doesn't work like that.0
