Out of curiosty if the OP was to have the TV repaired and it broke again 3 months after the repair, how many repairs are acceptable before you could demand them to replace the product?0 -
Just a friendly suggestion but any chance you could stop using italics. You may be doing so to stand out from the crowd a bit but it does make your posts difficult to read.0

A reasonable time is not specified in the legislation but 3 months for a TV would be accepted as being way past this.I would doubt being without a TV for a week or two would be seen as a significant inconvenience, espcially if the OP had access to more than one TV in his house or if not the retailer could supply a loaner during the repair period. The legislation allows for the retailer to decide which, economically is the best remedy, which is why it's their choice not the consumer.0

My Dad bought a TV from Laser that they repaired 4 times in the first year imrc.
Thats terrible, thats why I asked I would not be happy spending a lot of money on something that needed to be constantly repaired, I would want it replaced after the 2nd repair I think.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -

Would it?? How do you know?? Please back up this statement, otherwise this is just your opinion, not based on factual evidence.
It would in this house, our TV gets used for lots of different types of family entertainment, any longer then a week for a tv that is 3 months old would be a significant inconvenience to us!!
Oh no it does not, I have had this argument with someone else on here a while ago, why not use the search function, that is after all what it is there for!!!0 -

I think you need to check your facts rather than going what other things you've read here. If you honestly think that 3 months is still within a reasonable time to reject a TV, let alone most other electrical items then you're living in a fantasy world.
Thankfully, I do do my research, I am also happy to put my money where my mouth is. I have, as stated earlier, had a washer drier replaced three times over the last 2 years. First time was after 4 months, retailer wanted to repair, I refused, after a bit of discussion they did indeed change the WD. And 2 subsequent machines have also developed faults and have been replaced. All from the initial purchase.
I have also rejected other items at varying lengths of time due to "not being of satisfactory quality" or not being "Durable", on a couple of occasions even starting court proceedings.
So as you can see, I can quite easily qualify my statements, please would you be so kind as to do the same with your statements/advice?0
