If it's glass, or any other foreign body, contact your local environmental health people. If you've saved the evidence, including the receipt..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

The product was tesco chocolate clusters.0 -
you should take a photo and keep a record of your complaint. I have always found them very helpful and responsive by phone and email to any complaints about home delivery. I think they will apologise and give you a refund because at the end of the day it is the supplier's fault. Presumably they will report to the supplier who will decide if it was a one off or a batch in which case they will recall??? A bit far fetched maybe from me but you say you don't want anyone else getting glass so that's all you can do really.Debt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

Only if a very sharp cornflake is transparent and looks like glass.:rotfl:0 -

A local crisp factory lost a glass lens off one of thier machine and they recalled and destroyed £100,000's of crisps from the machine was last inspected. This is a serious matter as someone else (eg a child) could swallow the glass and cause all sorts of internal problems. I would report it to enviro' health or food standards agency or the likes as they will force a product recall and carry out an investigation in to the source.
You could also sue thier !!! as one food place I worked in paid out £14,000 as a single peanut got into some powdered soup mixture.0 -
This thread is interesting.Back in August last year i found a smalll piece of soft plastic in one of their individual apple pies.Had it been a child it could well have choked on it.i rang them up and they said to take it in,along with the box,to my local store and they would take all the details and send it off to head office. They gave me a refund at the store but that was not really what i was after,i wanted to know what it was and make sure noone else was at risk from choking on it.i knew i had seen the bit of plastic before but couldn't place it.
I waited quite a while, but heard nothing. So i rang head office and they said they were looking into it and i would get a letter shortly.Another few weeks went by and i did indeed get a letter. It stated that they had identified the plastic as a drawer stopper, you know the one,it stops your kitchen drawer from banging when it shuts.
The letter then went on to say that the factory where the apple pies are made does not have these stops anywhere and so the 'alleged' foreign body could not have come from there.Meaning? I put it there myself? The drawer stopper jumped out of my drawer, and into an apple pie then put the pastry lid on itself? How clever of it.:D
I was not amused i can tell you.Anyway they did say they would then pass on the details to the suppliers of the apple filling itself and to await their findings. Not the answer i expected.I was not after compensation just an apology but so far nothing.
So don't expect a lot .Though glass is obviously much more dangerous than what i found but if you hear nothing from them i would certainly keep chasing.0 -
same experience as the above poster, a few years ago i found shreds of plastic in a bag of frozen vegetarian mince. It got replaced, but received a similiar letter in that there's no way this could have got into the bag in their factory. I would tell enviromental health as well so tescos take it a bit more seriously.0
