First Direct Internet Banking 'Available Balance'.....

Okay, I may have missed this!!!
Have only been with First Direct for a short time (weeks).
When I login to internet banking I don't seem to be able to see an 'available balance' indicator.
I have had this with every other bank I have been with and have completely assumed that First Direct would have it, given that they are supposed to be the best bank out there!
Am I looking in the wrong place? Or am I right is assuming that they don't have this functionality?
I have to say also that their internet banking on first impression is a total joke. It looks and feels like it was created as a school project in a bedroom.

Just spoke to First Direct. They said 'we do not have this functionality'.
Am I missing something here?
All I see is postings and comments that First Direct are the leaders in banking. Yet my personal opinion is that apart from the 'nice friendly staff', they are useless.
Their internet banking is the equivalent of a digital circus. It looks cheap and nasty and it operates cheap and nasty. All this from a top bank??
Bonkers.................0 -
The way that works with me is, by going to make a payment on your account it shows the available balance at the top of that page. I don't know if that makes any sense, but I thought the same as you when I first started using it.0

I have to say I'm also not impressed with the online banking, but I'm staying because of the free £250 OD and Faster Payments.

Just did what you said and I can see what you mean.
So they obviously have the functionality but do not use/display it correctly.

They are only the best bank out there due to customer service. The rest of their operations are lacklustre just like most others.
They haven't done an overhaul of their internet banking system since they first began, so even the simple things many other banks can do FD can't - not because it can't be done, but because they either choose not to or don't really care.
End of day, people bank with FD because you speak to a human being in the UK within 2 rings and that's that!0 -

I thought this was the TOP bank, the MAIN one, the ONE to be with!!
Crazy..............
I have to say I was a bit disapointed, but the main reason I wanted to move bank was for Faster payments, the £250 fee free OD was a bonus.End of day, people bank with FD because you speak to a human being in the UK within 2 rings and that's that!
What, who rings banks anymore? I've probably rang my bank once in the last 2 years ( and they couldn't help anyway, lol)

I am a TOTAL advocate of being able to speak to a human in the UK. Trust me this ranks top in my book.
However not having basic functionality and no prospect or a date of improvement is enough to lure me to another bank and move my business away.
The functionality we are talking about is not rocket science, it's plain developement.0
