Hi re the electricity cards: when we went to Pontins 2 years ago, we used just under £1 per day in electricity.
This time of year the place is probably dead and the chalets are empty anyway - if they give you accomodation, chances are you'll apend money at their shops/bars/arcades etc. Don't worry they're not losing anything.0 -
Just a word of caution regarding the swimming pool. When we were there in 2004, the swimming pool really stung our eyes. I don't know if it would still be like this, but I'd take some goggles with you especially for the kids. Otherwise it's a fab swimming pool:T cos it's got a beach type shallow end, a slide, fountains and all sorts.0

They're working on the principle that you'll buy their booze, eat their food and spend money in their arcade. I went there last year on a really cheap weekend break and it cost us £3 for the 3 nights in electricity - it's a prepay token meter...you get the tokens when you book in at £1 each, if you feel it's going to fast, then say something.
I really haven't been able to fault any of the pontins breaks we've been on...yes, they're basic, cheap accomodation on a basic site...there's lots to do for the kids and the disco, evening caberet, comedian etc every evening. You spend as much or as little as you want and just enjoy it.
I can't see that there would be catches, they're obviously just trying to fill the rooms over a quiet period."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Maybe that's why it's only £30 to upgrade to club.
Being classic, it should include bed linen - has anyone been told anything about this?
Oh yes, another member of the prestatyn 7th July club here!
Thanks OP!
i asked and was told bed linen was provided, only need to bring towels, that was for camber friday to monday 7th to 10th julyNever put off till tomorrow what you can do today!

My booking reference refers to a 1 bed CLASSIC. The girl confirmed that I will get bed linen, but need to bring my own towels. I need to buy electricity cards at £1 each, but will have one free in my welcome pack.
Hope this helps
Many thanks for this, should have read the post earlier, as it is I couldn't get the centre, dates or room size I wanted, but I did get Prestatyn. Never been myself, so should be a laugh !! Kids don't know yet, don't even know if they will want to go - but when its free even if I just take one of them for a couple of days hopefully it should be ok.
Tempted to upgrade - thought of my bunch with no tv for a few hours let alone days
Weather forcast looks good, but then it is Wimbledon, so I better pack the raincoats and Wellies
Anyone been here before ?
Whats to do, whats to avoid.
Many many thanks to op:T0 -

The on site shop is pricey, they always are...take as many basic bits as you can with you.. There's normally a small freezer compartment in the fridge, helps if you want to take any meals ready prepared.
There's a decent chippy, just out of the camp and to your left, along with pub, laundrette, post office, corner shop etc.
There are buger and chips places with cafe etc right on the beach front, they sell the buckets and spades too but can be pricey.
The nearest town and supermarket are Rye...pretty little town, well worth a visit.
On arrival at the parks you get a book of vouchers to use in the bars, etc, can be worth looking through as you can get some good deals on drinks.
The restaurant on site, at the back of the arcade is very expensive, I think a cooked breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids was going to cost around £18....we didn't bother.
The basic budget appartments are very basic, you can hire the bedlinen for your stay, I think it's £10 but it's all clean and much easier than trying to take your own. You have to pay for your electricity in the budget ones too, £3 should cover you for a 3 night stay.
Can't think of anything else at the moment - hope that helps someone.
there is a cash machine in the shop, it charges for cash withdrawals, but what you should do is buy simething small(like a paper and some milk) then get cashback. i saw loads of people drawing money then using cash in the shop. pure madness
and last time i went in a budget room there was a tv providedNever put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
