Thank you soooo much. We're another bunch for Camber Sands weekend 7th July. Me, dh and our two, my sister her husband and their two and my mum and dad have all got through. Where is this competition from? I was so paranoid they'd ask me

    A very much needed holiday

  • Hi, thanks OP.
We won a weekend to camber sands on the 7th July aswell. We upgraded for £30 and invited the folks along too. Nice one! There seems to be quite a few going on this day, maybe we should have a secret nod or something????;)

    Thanks again OP:j

A few tips for the Camber sands winners......

The on site shop is pricey, they always are...take as many basic bits as you can with you.. There's normally a small freezer compartment in the fridge, helps if you want to take any meals ready prepared.

There's a decent chippy, just out of the camp and to your left, along with pub, laundrette, post office, corner shop etc.

There are buger and chips places with cafe etc right on the beach front, they sell the buckets and spades too but can be pricey.

The nearest town and supermarket are Rye...pretty little town, well worth a visit.

On arrival at the parks you get a book of vouchers to use in the bars, etc, can be worth looking through as you can get some good deals on drinks.

The restaurant on site, at the back of the arcade is very expensive, I think a cooked breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids was going to cost around £18....we didn't bother.

The basic budget appartments are very basic, you can hire the bedlinen for your stay, I think it's £10 but it's all clean and much easier than trying to take your own. You have to pay for your electricity in the budget ones too, £3 should cover you for a 3 night stay.

Can't think of anything else at the moment - hope that helps someone.

I was told i am in a 1 bed classic upstairs. it says on their website this includes linen and a tv, kitchen, lounge

but DOESNT include, free electric, towells or bathroom and tea/coffee pack.

I dont think electric will cost much if i am on the beach all day.

Lets pray for some sun :D

will there be any holidays left before I stop pondering and actualy call?

  • Do you reckon Martin would design a little poster or something we could all stick in out apartment window? Looks like we're going to pack the parks out over the next few weeks.
I've booked Camber Sands from the 10th July. Booked one for my little brother and his girlfriend too. Off to see all my friends now and see if they want to go too. Yippppppppeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

A big fat thank you to the OP! See loads of you there by the looks of it.

You don't have to upgrade and they didn't take any credit card details from me at all.

Starlite, ~ no, no, and no.

    Get on with it!

You only need to upgrade if they have run out of freebies but have upgrades available, so ~ get on with it!!!
