there doesn't appear so but..... i guess until someone has been and reports back then you won't know. I'm taking the view that I paid nothing for the holiday so I only have my petrol and time to lose. If it's absolutely terrible then it'll be a very short break. For a free holiday my standards can drop a fair bitI'm going 3rd july (next monday!!)
As I was told (others appear to have had it explained slightly differently):
Basic holiday (nothing extra paid) = one bedroom (for 4 people), no bed linen, no microwave, pay for own electricity, basic kitchen facilities e.g. kettle, toaster, grill, oven, fridge, freezer, no towels, no complimentary tea/coffee.
£30 upgrade = 2 bedrooms (for 4 people), bed linen,no microwave, pay for own electricity, basic kitchen facilities e.g. kettle, toaster, grill, oven, fridge, freezer, no towels, no complimentary tea/coffee.
Anyone been to prestatyn before? Can anyone give local info/advice/words of warning?
Anyone been to southport before? (i booked grandparents with grandchildren in)Can anyone give local info/advice/words of warning?

I don't think there are, tinkerbell. I don't know hwere the competition is from, but it's a good one.0

I just phoned Prestatyn (01745 854523 from saynoto0870)
My booking reference refers to a 1 bed CLASSIC. The girl confirmed that I will get bed linen, but need to bring my own towels. I need to buy electricity cards at £1 each, but will have one free in my welcome pack.
Hope this helps*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

We'll all have to take a "Get Hooked On Books" window sticker with us from the Quick Reads packs so we'll know who the MSE'ers are0

I phoned it but they can only offer me the 7th July now which is no good as we have got to go to a wedding that weekend. There must be a catch somewhere as I cant see all those camps willing to give away free 3 night breaks to thousands of people. The only other thing I can think is that the electric meter is going to whirr round really fast. I went on a sun holiday with an electric meter in the apartment once and I paid out £35 over the 4 night break just for basic stuff like boiling the kettle and a few light bulbs.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

Brilliant! I can ring and just check exactly what is available. Thanks!!!0 -
Personally I would have taken advantage of this had it fallen on the week that I've just booked off. Unfortunately it doesn't, and there are no locations close to where I am. How depressing.
I could say that I hope it rains for you lot....but that would be mean..... so I'll sulk instead.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Mybe the world cup has affected their bookings and they'd rather have people in the parks spending money on amenities/ in the bars etc than it be empty?!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0

I share your reservations.
But maybe they assume people will spend loads in the (overpriced) shops/restaurants/bars? Obviously didn't reckon on MSE'rs slow cookers, cool boxes and general money savvy-ness (does that word exist?)0
