Some people can't just 'leave' banks at will. If you have a credit product with them (loan, for example), you are tied to them until you can clear the debt or else transfer it (e.g. mortgage).

Believe me, next Month I will be able to leave Abbey - and I will at an instant.

It took me 12 months to close my ex N+P accounts because of the mortgage,as soon as my house was sold everything was closed.A happy day.
ps They will prob ask why you are closing your accounts,time to think of a parting shot methinks.
