  • No new feedback here. Love it except for the funny yucky green. I thought the forum tab was in a better position. Much nicer looking overall.

Thanks for all the feedback folks - itll all be looked at and we'll see what we can do

One tiny issue - the double 'search' - yes that's going - just at the moment the trial masthead is pigeon'd onto the current site - so we will be getting rid of it one we switch over.

Perhaps on your new photo Martin, the click on the image could link to the `who you are' page and/or your blog? I'm on Windows XP and IE 8

Update 15 Jan 5pm: FINAL VERSION READY FOR TESTING

    Hi folks,

We've spent a couple of weeks tidying and refining this after reading your feedback and putting some more ideas into it. This is now our intended final version, and we would love it if you folks could give it a test.

We're particularly interested in any bugs you find in any rarer internet browsers you may be using eg. older versions of Internet Explorer/Firefox, or something totally different like Opera.

    Here is the link, enjoy!

Calibri will only be available on PCs which have
    • Office 2007 or above
    • or the Office File Format Converters package
    • or are running Vista, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008
(see Microsoft Typography). So probably about half of the target PCs (and those Macs with Office 2008!)?

I think Martin's new photo looks less smug! ;)
  • I far prefer the current tabs.

Far easier for ALL users to have the little icons as well.

For some English is not their first language or they may not have as fluent reading abilities as others of us.
    Put the kettle on. ;)

The new one looks slightly sleeker but still overall its incredibly cluttered (as was the original). Those people with visual disabilities may find it difficult to the colours of the text in the tabs

I think it's cleaner and more professional looking. An improvement not that the old one wasn't okay.

I would prefer a darker green (similar to the old one) or something a bit 'fresher' - it's just a bit too garish.

I think Martins picture should be repositioned or the tabs moved over, as at the moment it looks like someone's stuk him behind there as an afterthought! Actually, I would probably move the whole lot down, so that the 'home' tab is about level with Martin's shirt button (at the mo it's too close to his chin - he looks like he's peering over the top!) then make the title a touch bigger and shift it down a bit to centre it within the green masthead.

Being really picky (sorry, I'm a designer I can't help it!) I'd also reduce the width of the white border on the text - it's just slightly aesthetically overpowering at the moment.

I do think it looks more modern overall and I like the tabs and the way they are set out, much clearer - but I'd make the forum tab more visible.

    Well done people x
