Update 15 Jan 5pm: FINAL VERSION READY FOR TESTING
Hi folks,
We've spent a couple of weeks tidying and refining this after reading your feedback and putting some more ideas into it. This is now our intended final version, and we would love it if you folks could give it a test.
We're particularly interested in any bugs you find in any rarer internet browsers you may be using eg. older versions of Internet Explorer/Firefox, or something totally different like Opera.
We can't do the testing on the forum version so it only works in the main site - the forum version will look identical except as the forum is stretchy once the masthead ends if you've a wide screen it'll go to the forum green.
Here is the link, enjoy!

Thanks folks - below is the original post from when the first round of testing happened, and the first 86 posts are replies to that version!)
MSE Dan
We're redesigned the site masthead - we hope its an improvement... (you may think different
What it does
1. The colours are more subtle
2. The tabs now react when you put your mouse over them
3. We have recalimed a line space so everything will now start higher
4. We've done some future proofing so we now have space for things like an extra Christmas tab etc.
5. We've also done some back end tweaks to make it smoother.
How to see it
Below is a link, if you click it a cookie will be added to your computer that changes it to the new masthead for 15 minutes (notes this only works for the main site not the forum though of course when we roll it out it will be in here too)

Hint
Before clicking it you may want to pick a main site page and open it with the current masthead. Then click the link and open the same page in a new tab with the new masthead to allow you to compare.
Please feedback...
Any info on the following would be great.

Any info on the following would be great.
- Do you like it?
- Is the space saved helpful?
- Dooes the writing in the tabs (ie where it says cards and loans, mortgages and homes etc) work for you - we have selected the Calibri font that most machines should have, but if not it defaults to other fonts and we'd love feedback on how it works.
- Any glitches? If there are please can you tell us a. what page b. what browser you're using and c. what version of windows/mac.

I like it, it's very.....green
I like that the tabs illuminate (is that the right word??!) when you hover over them. Oh, and that's a much nicer pic of you, Martin
It seems to work fine for me, and I'm on IE.0 -
much better!:A

Looks quite clean and well laid out to me. IMO the different font colours help the tabs stand out better, making them easier to read.
Just have to get used to your eyes boring into the back of my skull rather than the wistful sideways glance of the old one.Dave. :wave:0 -
The pictures have gone
It's more professional but I liked the pictures!
Also it's a bit of an icky green colour
But then again - I hate all change!
xJust started cashback-ing - makes me feel less guilty when I impulse buy!0 -
Hi there
I like it. The font is perfect, makes it look more 'funky' but slightly smaller than before - or is that just me?!
Some of the smallish pics appear quite blurred (calculator, credit cards etc) but not all of them.
Maybe the 'forum' tab could be bigger or more obvious for new people!Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
I like it, Much easier on the eye and clear to use.0

Looks fine here...the "search area" list box ("main site", "forum" etc) looks a little naff/odd though...might just be me, running chrome, anyway...0

I think the new one is much smarter and more professional. I like that its less bitty with news and deals just randomly floating, However the biggest plus has to be that the photo looks less conniving!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0
