mums opinions closing

have searched but it isnt coming up so, apologies if already posted....

ive just got an email to say mums opinions site is closing and you need to redeem your points......unfortunately you can only redeem at £10 and i only have £2 so im going to lose them...okay £2 is nothing but, im wondering about them poor things who might have say £9.50 and end up losing them points.....and how will all the points add up and save them a lot of money - theyve had all our time and hard work and now they are shutting.....typical......

so - please check your accounts and see if you can redeem....xxx

I saw that, not happy. They could have given a bit more warning. I have £5 - okay it's not the end of the world, but since Amazon do evouchers and you can buy £5 worth, can't see why they can't honour that.

Also, I can't see why they can't transfer the balance to Valued Opinions, which is the same company (if you do that too).

yes i do valued too...ive emailed them and asked them that exact thing....i suggested they either redeem for evouchers/add to our other survey account or pool all unredeemed points and donate to charity....

Not at all happy about this, I have £6 in account and my friend has £9.50. After all we have given the information in good faith and they in turn have been paid for the information they have collected. If they are shutting down then they should do the decent thing and pay everybody what they are owed.

great minds think alike, I forgot to mention the charity bit. If we can't have it, pass it to charity, they would have been paid (I presume) by Bounty and got their money, so only right to have ours.

No doubt there will be the answer "if you read the terms and conditions", blah, blah blah!

Also, (still moaning!) a little bit irritating when it does actually take some time to build up to a tenner too when you get screened out alot of the time.
  • I'm annoyed about this too, only 3.75 in my account but still its taken a while to get there!!

It might still be worth emailing to complain. A different survey site (Juicy Brains Panel) closed last year and they ended up bumping up the totals of everybody who emailed to complain, taking them up to the minimum payout!

(Although I wouldn't expect Mum's Opinions to do that - they have always been pretty miserly with their points at the best of times!)

I've got £7.50 in my account! How infuriating is that! (Just checked and have received the same email too.) :(

I received the e-mail and I too have £7.50 in my account. I e-mailed them earlier to ask what will happen to this and will let you know how I get on.

    Dear Mum’s Opinion member

You can only redeem your reward if your reward balance has reached the redemption level of £10.

We understand that this is disappointing for you, but there is nothing we can do.

Please refer to our terms and conditions section 2 Obligations of Research Now http://www.mumsopinions.co.uk/TermsAndConditions

I just got the same email. Think of how much money they are keeping which is rightfully ours. I bet it amounts to quite a lot quite a nice bonus for them,
