I've actually exceeded 3000 texts a month (5247) on an Orange unlimited text messaging package and they didnt bat an eye lid. They only really bat an eyelid if you are sending texts for commercial purposes and not to the same people etc.
As for the unlimited they are all classed as seperate bundles they are all subject to fair usage (what I've been lead to believe)0 -
Acknowledged. What bothers me is simply the Orange staff (not yourself clearly) not knowing what it is they're offering, and misleading people. Given that I repeatedly asked whether tthe BB had a fair usage policy (and asked what it was, 250, 500, etc.) and it was incorrectly confirmed that I had as much as i wanted.Yes, however theres no need to panic over it. It's called an Unlimited bundle because it would be very very rare for someone to exceed 500mb on a Blackberry. Exactly the same as text mesages too. To put it into context, Orange sell dongles with 500mb data on and thats sufficient for a lot of people using a laptop, so how you think you'll go over it on a Blackberry is beyond me.
What does the wording matter to you so much if your getting the service requested? Are you planning on attempting to download films on a 3G connection? Because if you were, I'd strongly suggest using wi-fi to at least cut down on the time it takes.
If i'd now gone and streamed music, pandora for example, and subscribed to loads of rss feeds and data-intensive stuff.. only to get a huge bill for it, it'd be my fault, due to someone elses incompetence to read off their screen properly. Jeez.0 -
From what ive read so far it seems Orange "unlimited data" packages are caped at 500mb and going over it will result in a charge of a few £ a mb. Ive read of stories on other forum sites of people with windows mobile phones that use bbc iplayer that comes with the phone to stream some tv shows thinking their data was unlimited only to have a bill of £200 come their way. So yeah it is a problem, especialy as most phones can connect to computers to use its internt access when the normal internet is down say due to the snow.
Also coupled with the inconsistancy with the priceing seeing as the £5 bundle for 500mb is equal to 1p per mb but once you go over the 500 you get charged around £1 per mb.
as phones start useing data more and more I think orange should really take a look at their unlimited packages and fair useage policies to try and make them a bit more......fair0 -
Totally agree! it seems orange have a problem in either understanding their own tarriffs, or that its in their job description to 'not understand customers' and 'mislead them' hehe.arielcohen wrote: »From what ive read so far it seems Orange "unlimited data" packages are caped at 500mb and going over it will result in a charge of a few £ a mb. A friend of mine with an n97 has the very same issue you mentioned above. Comes v close every month to the 500mb limit and is very conservative with his data. 500mb really is a joke. Orange isnt O2, although they try to be, their service is highly limited. Hopefully they'll unrestrict it soon
