Right, seriously, what the HECK is on my phone account?

Despite all the praises i've made about Orange, one thing that's really really confused me is the data on my blackberry device.

I've spoke to many different people in 2 days, and have been told that on my Panther 40 w/ a Bold 9700 package I get:

1) 500mb browsing on the internet/receiving push emails - everything, mail or net, is taken out the 500mb.

2a) Unlimited push emails and 500mb browsing (2 seperate things which don't affect one another).

2b) Unlimited push emails and "unlimited internet" which is subject to 500mb.

3) Unlimited push email and unlimited internet with no restrictions whatsoever. It's truely unlimited (because of blackberry data services.. I have access to as much as I want).

4) Unlimited push email and unlimited internet (subject to 250mb blackberry data).

5) I have Unlimited texts, email, and internet... "don't worry about anything, just watch your minutes.. the rest you'll never have to worry about" .. "what abouot the fair ussage policy??" .."there is non, just 3000 on the text msgs, thats all".

ARRRGH.. I am CONFUSED AS %*£& :mad:... every Orange representative has their own cool story to tell me regarding my tarriff, and I don't know what to believe.

I need help, advice, something solid.. anyone please?

You have 500mb of BB Internet on your account, otherwise known as the BB Bundle.

This allows you up to 500mb (never seen anyone exceed it) to use on internet and e-mail, wether it be accessing e-mail through hotmail on your web browser or pushing e-mails through.

So strictly speaking - I do need to worry about my data in addition to minutes. Don't care if people do or don't normally exceed it, what I wanted to know was if my data was 'exceedable'; which it is. I could exceed it in a few hours if I stuck it on youtube or BBC iplayer or something, it's v easy to exceed.

Next question: how can I keep track of / monitor my data usage. I followed the prompts on my 150 menu to check my mins/texts. I can check my minutes. I am told I dont have a text bundle on my phone (I was subsequently told this was because I have unlimited text msgs). And I haven't yet heard an option for checking my data.

Help would be much appreciated, thank you!

Just an afterthought. The orange website advertised "Unlimited push email and 500mb of data". Im not trying to pick holes, but this to me suggests Unlimited push email as one thing, and 500mb data as another. Kind of misleading..

..so I've gone from being told I have unlimited push email, unlimited texts, and unlimited blackberry internet with no limits, and nothing to worry about or monitor besides my calls to..

..limited internet and email to the sound of 500mb.

They class it as unlimited because nobody ever exceeds it. Like unlimited texts are not unlimited, and I've only ever seen one person exceed 3000.

Why don't you just stop picking holes in it? You won't be charged for internet unless you quite rightly said, start downloading films or music constantly. Anything else you'd be fine.

Any way to check the data allowance then?

My iPhone lets me check and so does my C905, best best is to go into usage counters (if the phone has one) and there should be one for data.

Your Account online as well will tell you how much data you have used,

Where abouts exactly? When I look in "view the balance of your bundles" I only see my remaining minutes...

You always have the data counters on your phone to use as well.

Hmm.. just so you know, thats the reason the lady on the phone with whom I spoke with yesterday came to the conclusion that all my data and email and texts were unlimited, as on my 'View the balance of your bundles' page I only had minutes, so she figured the rest was unlimited (and unlisted), thus I need not worry about anything but my minutes.

See how different people see different things, thus come to different conclusions, now?

Yes, however theres no need to panic over it. It's called an Unlimited bundle because it would be very very rare for someone to exceed 500mb on a Blackberry. Exactly the same as text mesages too. To put it into context, Orange sell dongles with 500mb data on and thats sufficient for a lot of people using a laptop, so how you think you'll go over it on a Blackberry is beyond me.

What does the wording matter to you so much if your getting the service requested? Are you planning on attempting to download films on a 3G connection? Because if you were, I'd strongly suggest using wi-fi to at least cut down on the time it takes.
