  • I am AT HOME!

School was closed but the system to tell everyone failed!!!! but it was ok we all rung each each to share the good news!!!

I tell you what I was so happy. so happy. went out to get the paper and discovered the top of our road has a water leak and has basically turned in to an ice rink on the pavement and the side of the road. really thought I was going to fall. v. scary.

    hope everyone is ok

Might go back to bed just because I can!!

I can't stay in, I HAVE to go out, it's driving me bonkers.

Oooh, if you've got ice, I did have a though. Would it make it easier to walk on if you kinda scored it or battered it with a shovel so it's not as smooth and has rough bits to help traction

The easiest way to walk on ice is to use shuffling steps - by reducing your stride length you are reducing the time spent off balance and will be planting your feet more firmly so less chance of a slip :)

We have been told to stay at home until Monday:j

OH has taken the more reliable car of the 2 so I am definitaly not even attempting to take the boys into school whether it is on or not, they go to different schools which are 14 miles apart..........no chance.

I have to work from home though which is good as I can get caught right up on my planning and get all my lessons sorted for next week.

Just booked a £12 room in the travelodge sale for the day before we fly from Manchester, definitely better than getting up and travelling down at 4am or paying the £60 that we did in 2008.

Not many rooms left for those that were hoping to grab a bargain today.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Am gonna go out so I'll use my tried and tested trick ; walking on the road near the gutter.

It looks like Pint made it into work (although he is slightly mad) So I may make it into town to have a look and maybe do some shopping.

Morning all, hope you're all OK... I'm back again - two days off thanks to snow, was nice to have my birthday off (basically stayed in, ate nice food and drank champagne) but started to get a bit bored yesterday... Mr Squizz can work from home a bit and at one point came down from the attic where the computer is to find me scrubbing the bathroom cos I was bored! We did have a nice walk in the snow though and bought some really cheap veg and herb seeds in B&Q, then I drew little plans of the garden and where everything's going to go :D

I so need to get some decent running in, feel very restless and fat!
