what would he be entitled too???

i'm enquiring for a mate, but i'm also curious as we are in similar postitions. hopefully wont be an issue as credit crunch should be over soon!

we are both in the building trade and have limited companies. he is the majority shareholder in his, but i am not in mine.

he's struggled to make ends meet (he's a brickie, so loses a lot to rain etc) whereas i'm indoor based so unaffected by rain!!

what benefits would he be entitled to? he owns his own house. average size mortgage (160k ish, i think) 2 kids, both at school.

he's in his fortys and never even signed on, so doesn't have a clue.

anyone know what he'd be entitled to? his savings are nearly gone and no work lined up.

  • He could ring tax credits and ask them to do a claim on his estimated salary for this year and it would mean he would be entitled to WTC and CTC, but he should not underestimate otherwise he would get an overpayment. I can't think of anything else he would be entitled to.
