Just thought I'd update to say I managed to get home ( after almost 2 hours! ). The snow stopped so it was ok, stopped a couple of times to clear the windscreen but other than that it was fine. I popped the bonnet and had a poke round but couldn't see any easy solution to sort it out! When I click the wipers on I can here ( and could see when I had the bonnet open ) that they were trying to work if that makes sense? moved the wipers so they weren't frozen to the windscreen so I'm assuming somethings broke somewhere!
The cars a Vauxhall Astra, just over 2 years old so still a fairly new car.
Thank you all for your tips, I think it's just been one of those things and I'm going to ring the garage in the morning to try to get it sortedGoing to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

This happened to my car. The ice got under where the wiper arm attaches and literally popped it off! Must have been some force because when we tried to get it off when the motor needed changing my partner couldn't make it move at all

At least it's narrowed it down a bit. Glad you got home ok.
Not sure about the Astra (and it's a it late for me to check under my bonnet I'm afraid) but most it's failed at the motor end, or at the wiper end. I would guess that the motor end is most likely, either something has worked loose/popped off, or has sheared off. If it's the former, then it's a cheap, easy fix. If it's the latter, then it's a more expensive easy fix.Fight Crime : Shoot Back.
It's the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without being seduced by it.
