I second the fuse idea. its' likely that it's blown due to the wipers being frozen. What make and model of car is it?0
-
If your windscreen washer fluid was frozen and you tried to use it then it may have blown a fuse. If it is like my car then there are separate fuses for the wipers and also for the fluid pump. My car blows the pump fuse to protect the pump, which then also stops the wipers working.
This happened yesterday and I managed to swap a non essential fuse of the same rating.0 -
could just need the bolt tightening on the wiper (probably on older cars) It happened to me once after I'd just passed my test in heavy rain so went to halfords and they spotted the problem straight away, so easy to fix!
Heres hoping it's this or something simple and you can get home
:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly

Hi
You could join the AA/RAC now and get them to come and assist immed. I believe with cashback on this site its only around £7/8.

I wouldnt really recommend driving without the wipers even if its not raining or snowing. What about the stinky spray from other cars that ends up on the front window ?
I've found myself using my washers and wipers loads lately for the reason above, it seems i'm never done filling up my washers lol.
Checking the Fuse is definitly the way to go, after that, sorry I don't really know.
Hope you get sorted and get home soon0 -
Are you sure the wipers aren't just frozen in place? Might be worth starting the car up and letting it heat up for a while in case..0

Reminds me of when this happened to my mate in her flaming Morris minor convertible, as the windscreen wipers were connected to top of the windscreen I could manually move them, so we could get home, took hours for my arm to warm up.
Ask colleagues if they are in the AA, and get one of them to ring up.0 -

I would phone the main dealer is it's under warranty and see what they advise. They may be able to suggest something.
Could a colleague not drop you somewhere you could get public transport? Or even a colleague to look at the car for you?0 -
So, they were working and then they stopped. Hmm. First choice would be to pop the bonnet, switch the ignition on (without starting the engine) then switch them on and listen. If there is no sound, then find the fuse box, and have a look to see if the wiper fuse has blown. If it has, there is usually a spare in the box, and failing that, swap one from something you don't need with the same rating. If there is a sound, but no movement, then it's a little more complicated.
