Is it too early to get a BFP?

  • I wouldn't go testing too early.

There are many near pregnancies that happen without us knowing, and the early testing just makes it worse in terms of the hopes being pushed too high.

It is very possible for the body to convince itself it is pregnant through wanting it so much.

It is difficult to do, but you need to try to put it out of your mind and just wait each month.

My first child was conceived within a month and I was convinced my second would be as quick, as it was it was nearly a year of trying when I got pregnant the second time round. I also had the body wanting to be pregnant when it wasn't and a near pregnancy, with a faint line and then period.

Do relax as much as you can. Also not to let it take over your thoughts and time with you little one.

For people who have tried for a long time will know, it can take over your life and you forget the important things with those who are here already!

but if ive read this right the OP will be 14 days late tomorrow (wednesday)

OP - my ebay pregnancy test recomendation was in my post above (post#23) they are very quick and discreet, and when you think your getting a faint line you can get a better brand to confirm it,
  • Thank you for all your replies. I have looked on ebay for the fertility friend but no luck so just trawling through the list. The asda ones sound good too but ive heard you can get about 50 (pee on stick test) from ebay for about the same price.

If it does take 12months or longer then that's just the way it is. I dont want to take anything for granted just because we were lucky with DD and to get pregnant again no matter how long it takes, we would be exstatic.

For all you ladies wo did bleed at the beginning when you did get BFP can you describe(not easy I know) what your blood loss was like. Was it just spotting when you went to toilet?, Did you have to use anything?

    Thanks

With my son it was heavy enough for me to preume it was AF and use a tampon. It was only after removal of the tampon, I realised I was hardly bleeding at all and from then on over the next 2 days it was just really when I wiped. It started a bright red but quickly went to a pink.

    TMI.

    Hi OP

You can catch first time i have what i will say is the over the counter pregnancy tests are not as sensitive as they like to make out i think they measure 25miu the ones i have found on the internet measure 10miu which is alot more sensitive http://www.accessdiagnostics.co.uk/acatalog/Ultra_Home_Pregnancy_Test.html

I used them 8 days after conception and got a positive if a very faint one i then waited until after my period wa due and did a digital one just to confirm. :-)

When I had a 'period ' with DD2, I honestly thought it was my period, and actually went and got all my vaccinations which were overdue ( I was a nurse) when I stopped bleeding. A couple of days later, a little voice in my head just told me to do a pregnancy test, and it was faint, but positive. The result is now nearly 3.
The second time, I thought it was my period, was using tampons as normal, but I normally am light for a few days, then get heavy around day 4 and bleed for around 8 days in total. As it stopped after 3 days without turning heavy, I tested again, and got a faint positive, another faint line 2 days later, with BFP a few days later.

  • So it is possible Im hoping the tests come before the weekend as mentioned previously its my friends hen party on Saturday. If they dont, think I may have to get one from the shop just incase dont want to be drinking if I am pregnant.

Will update in a few days
