Sorry didn't mean to cause any problems with the hugs :o I knew feelinggood was feeling low and needed lots of hugs.
Blinky, hi hun, i have something for you :grouphug: , hehe, thought i would give you a taste of your own medicine, now can i ave one?
and how are you doing at the moment? hows work? xxx

Work is busy but will get worse over the next few weeks. The one person who knows something on our sister site is moving onto a different area. We knew it was coming but didn't know when. Unfortunately I more or less had it confirmed that I am the fountain of all knowledge and go to guy.

Got a email, also sent to others, asking for a volunteer for take on some work. I replied back saying I was surprised I wasn't volunteered and asking somebody else to take on the work. I then received two mails back requesting I take the work on. So much for reducing my workload..

To be honest I'm fine. Things are going great with 'R' or 'like a house on fire' in her words. I've been round hers tonight so I'm ... :happyhear :happyhear :kisses2:

I've never had an alcohol problem so I can't really comment other than the fact that one of the reasons I don't drink much is that I'm never sure what mood it is going to put me in.

I've gone off the taste too - just don't enjoy drinking it. Last drink I had was June and before that March. I don't think drinking heavily helps with the mental health so try and cut down if you're depressed.

    Anyway, sleep well all.

  • Hope everyone is ok, I have decided to stop taking my antidepressants and see how I get on in life, I have side effects have been feeling drowsy and tired anyone tried comming off them any advice would be much appreciated as im not finding it easy. Drink/Drugs when depressed is so tempting to turn to but im trying to steer clear of it at the moment because I dont want to get a problem, even though I do have a few lines of cocaine and drinking at the weekends now and then , i need to cut it all out and get myself back on track before I get out of control its dangerous grounds if I get caught up in that game I realise that now. I have been out of character when on antidepressants and a biy like a 'zombie' when on them and makes me act out of character and have found myself in trouble because of them as I explained to my GP so hopefully I wont need them again and can keep on track. My parents are supportive and realise how bad I am at the moment I never thought I would turn like this over an ex girlfriend at the age of 23 but this experience is making me stronger im sure and will help me overcome many obsticles that may come for the rest of the time im on this planet. I hope everyone is doing ok and my thoughts are with you all stay strong this will make you all stronger as individuals. Cheers Keep smiling !

I am the same with alcohol, it is unpredictable with me.

A lot of AD don't work well with alcohol either or it makes it twice as potent.

    Sleep well Blinky

Hi williamo!wave.gifGood to hear from you - it's been a while.:) Can I help hun? Let's see...

Hun, you should never take yourself off a medication without your GP's supervision. But you know this don't you angel? ;) You've been on these now for about 3 and a half months & now is the time when it's common for a lot of ad's to start to really kick in. Try & remember how you felt before you took them will - try & think about why you went to the GP for help in the 1st place hun. Is your GP supervising your withdrawal?
Drink/Drugs when depressed is so tempting to turn to but im trying to steer clear of it at the moment because I dont want to get a problem, even though I do have a few lines of cocaine and drinking at the weekends now and then , i need to cut it all out and get myself back on track before I get out of control its dangerous grounds if I get caught up in that game I realise that now.
When we are ill, it is tempting to look for relief in any means possible. The drugs and alcohol are dangerous apart, let alone together!:o You seem to be saying the right things about the dangers of cocaine & alcohol but - and no offence meant hun - are you saying it because you're already in the trap? Could you stop it all today? If it's a case of you cutting back until you've stopped, then you need help hun. Again, no offence but if you're trying cocaine and alochol hun, it suggests that you are probably out of control or why would you have been doing them? Does your GP know about this hun?
I have been out of character when on antidepressants and a biy like a 'zombie' when on them and makes me act out of character and have found myself in trouble because of them as I explained to my GP so hopefully I wont need them again and can keep on track.
There are a couple of possibilities here will. If you're combining ad's with drugs & alcohol, they're not going to work properly. Also maybe it's the cocaine and/or drink that's affecting your character - that's a common effect of either. So it may not have been your ad's. Time to go to your GP & tell them how you've been feeling & about the drugs/drink & he/she will be able to give you professional insight. There's many people have taken themselves off their ad's thinking it's just a matter of willpower and have proven themselves wrong. And will, there are a huge variety of ad's available to try - just because one hasn't worked yet is not a good enough reason to stop seeing your GP. They wouldn't have given you them if you hadn't needed them. Do you remember how hard it was at the beginning hun? Do you really want to go back there? Please see your GP.;)
It's good that you're trying to think positively will - I know the split up was terrible for you. There's no rules or age limit as to when we can become ill so try not to dwell on your age hun. I'll be 42 Christmas Day and I wish I was 23 because it would give me so much more time back.:o I'm not patronising you angel. You've been very articulate and sounded intelligent too & I'm not trying to preach. See GP about ad's please hun - you may just need the dose adjusting. You should see your GP regularly when on meds. It's fantastic to be optimistic but sometimes when we're ill, we don't see the situation as objectively as we think.
I'm pleased your parents are supporting you. :) To use your own words hun "My parents are supportive and realise how bad I am at the moment..." This says that you still need help. You shouldn't start your own cure hun, until the GP has said what's causing you to feel like this. Please let us all know how you're getting on ok will? Look after yourself hun.
    Much Love,
    Tiff xxx

  • Hi many thanks for you reply tiff I really appreciate it. You must be a late night person also!! My sleep pattern is everwhere, anyway your right I should book too see my gp mabe get a different dose of AD's. I really like to read people experiences on here its so good to know it not "just me" feeling the way I do. My friends dont really understand what im going through and think im just being 'weak' after splitting with my ex and becasue im a bloke I should just get on with it, but they dont realise im more emotional than some of them and how hard it hit me. Take care all.
