    Hi Miro,

How are you? Sorry, I don't watch sport, apart from Tennis, but I am sure someone else will watch them for you.

I am off to my sister's this afternoon, she is having a girls night tonight, so lots of wine (don't tell my doctor!) and girly chats. Should be fun, although I am a bit anxious, not sure how many people she has invited, hope it is not too many.

Not doing much at the minute. Just had the books I ordered turn up, so I might start reading one of those. Got the new James Patterson book, a Jodi Picoult book, PJ Tracy's new one and Miracle in the Andes, written by one of the guys who survived that plane crash that they based the film Alive on.

Can you tell I am a book worm?!!

Had a bit of a !!!!!! morning, OH confessed he has been gambling again (that is part of the reason we have so many money problems) and he has got through £400 in the last week! Don't quite know what we will be eating for the rest of the month until I get paid. Will just have to be inventive with what is in the cupboard.

Will stop writing now before this becomes an essay!!

    Hi Flis

I'm good right now, take it minute by minute though. Oh well, watch some Tennis for me.....sadly Jelena Dokic is rubbish now :(

Enjoy your girly night, it's good to have some time with people just having fun :)

I know little about books. I have very poor concentration, so tend not to read them, unless they are autobiographies. Sounds like you have a few to get through!

Oh dear re: other half gambling. I used to gamble, until about a month ago when I first got wind of 'S' being interested in getting to know me. I never gambled much, £20 p/w maybe, but won some weeks. I guess it was something to do, but hopefully now, I have better things to do.

Hope you have enough food to get you through!

We should be ok food wise, I have lots of tinned stuff and there is some chicken and mince in the freezer, got about £10 to buy milk and bread with and any other essentials.

I know a lot of people with depression can't read books, but it is the one thing I have always been able to do. I love reading a book as it helps me escape my life and pretend I am someone / somewhere else for a while. Reading does this in a way nothing else can. I tend to get bored by movies or tv and they don't engross me the way a book does. I would be devestated if I couldn't read for some reason.

The trouble with OH he does this, confesses to me and says he will never do it again, he will get help and he is really sorry, then 5-6 months later he does it again! I suppose I should just be grateful that he doesn't do it every month or we'd be b*ggered!

Okay, well it sounds like you can manage :)

Well, I find when really down, I can't do anything. It's not that I can't read, it's just low down on my priorities. I don't watch much TV........Music channels and Sport, but flatmate watches alot.

Has OH ever got any help? Do you think it would help if he did?

    Hi guys

flis - that must be quite worrying, OH. As Miro says, probably best he gets professional help, but until then hopefully you can manage if it doesn't get too out of hand. I like reading too, altho nearly always non-fiction rather than fiction with me, for some reason. Hope you have fun at your sisters.

Hi miro. Not much planned for the weekend. Am in and out of the kitchen at the mo' taking two batches of bread out of the oven. If I'm in tomorrow I may catch the last F1. I used to watch it regularly, but last two seasons less so.

Weird weather here today, torrential rain earlier, now brilliant sunshine?!

I do keep encouraging him to get help, but he won't and I can't force him to go. I have found him out the details of gamblers anonymous etc, but he won't call them. All I can really do is damage limitation until he is ready to do something himself.

When I watch telly, I always have a jigsaw puzzle to do, I can't just sit there as I am too fidgety, but I can do my puzzle and listen to the telly instead, which does at least mean I am sitting down and resting for a while. I am very bad at relaxing and reading is the only thing I do well at!
