My xbox is out of is warranty and I've got the 3 lights, does anyone know how much is it to repair? Or is it just best to buy a new one?
Many thanks
Is it over 3 years old? IF its under 3 years old the warranty has been extended to cover it for a 3 year period for the RROD.
As for repairs there are lots of places doing RROD fixes, you can also buy the kit yourself off ebay and find various tutorials online to enable you to fix it yourself. DIY isn't all that hard and you check the tutorials out first to see if you think you could attempt it yourself or not.
Beware though that mosst RROD fixes aren't that great and they can fail again, its never a guarantee they are always successful.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
whatever you don't do the home DIY methods i.e putting it in an oven or wrapping it in towels - this can cause more serious damage! worringly people do actually try this....0

Putting it in the Oven is one i've never heard of!
I've sent mine back to Microsoft twice now, had it back within 7-10 days.
First time they fitted a new DVD drive and Motherboard, second time it was replaced with a different console so can't complain.Topcashback 2009 - £61

Yeah the towel method might get you another day out of it but you risk causing more damage. When I said DIY fix I didn't mean those methods, I meant buying the X-Clamp and fitting it yourself.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0
