I understand that there were people who laughed at some of the stockpiling ideas on that thread but I doubt that they meant it maliciously and I don't feel that any of those comments justifies anyone who did "stockpile" feeling smug.
I agree wholeheartedly with Penelope Penguin and always keep a store cupboard that will see me through a bout of ill health or bad weather but I hate seeing panic buying or excessive stock piling as I think it just breeds panic.0 -

i didn`t mean to press the thanks button.
Of course I am not laughing at anyone in trouble. I have sort of got a wry smile at the people who were really taking the michael afer the thread was moved1 -

I never panic buy, no need as I am an organised homemaker with a nice full cupboard1 -

Maryb, at least you understand this kind hearted, caring, sharing woman. I must admit that I did get the hump because all I wanted to do was help people to think ahead. I don`t cope well with pee takers as they are the first ones to cry when events turn against them0 -
Kittie it must have felt awful. It may not have been meant maliciously but it made me flinch and I was just a poster not the originatorIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

I wouldn't call it a stockpile but a few extra bags [STRIKE]and a few large bottles of gin[/STRIKE] never go amiss. :whistle:0 -
I agree with HariboJunkie (and Penny), a good stock-cupboard is common sense, but there should be no sense of smugness, or wry smiles at anyone. Thinking you have the upper hand in any situation is the first step to downfall. So, instead of revelling in your cleverness, how about thinking how you could maybe help someone less fortunate than you (eg bake a cake for an elderly neighbour etc) ?
I read the other thread you posted Kittie, which was moved. You said you wanted to help people, but you were not willing to accept that there are many others on here who could also help others, and maybe even you!
I appreciate people may find my post harsh, you can do as you choose, tbh I was avoiding reading this thread and now wish I had kept doing so!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Percy Pigs are good too, like the cola ones. Right back to full stockcupboards, sorry for going off thread. Full stockcupboard of....“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0
