I have to have another op on my hand next Friday and originally they said three days in a cast and then I could go back to work but not drive. Now they are saying (had pre-assessment this morning) minimum a week off
maybe two and no work at all
I job-share basically so my colleague is going to have to work all those hours and she has another job.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

they can't make you be in trouble for that Gemmz. Please don't worry about it. They will cover it all. We've had someone of from our team for 7 months now on sick leave and a minimum of 2 more and we've got through it all."Stay Wonky":D

Awww Gem thats not your fault! If you need an op you need it, they dont decide these things because it gives them something to do. If you hand is that bad you need to have the op and recover fully from it. I guess if you start typeing/driving/using it you could undo all the work they did to it. Just because someone may have to do your job/they may have to find cover is not your problem, neither should you feel bad about it.
I mean my boss is off after having an op and us p/t people just pick up all his work as and when its needed. Its called team workPlease dont worry yourself they should understand

I think this is why I tend to avoid (like the plague) students in their first two years of study as most have to change mental gears from spoon-fed teaching and homework of the school system to self-directed and background reading required at Uni; also they're usually living away from home for the first time and realise they are free to do what they wantand many learn the lessons the hard way that e.g. money they spend on credit cards has to be repaid :eek:or that if they don't study they're not likely to pass exams (or do as well as they'd hoped). There are exceptions to this including mature students.
And yes, I'm more likely to shout at lecturers who fail to teach or turn up late or let students down (this is my biggest bug-bear, after rudeness;))!
