So today I was £1.60 up. I then spent £3.40 in Mr T on essentials. Low spend day overall.

Good news- have sorted old laptop, all my data has gone so now I can list on ebay.

OH working late tonight. I have a mountain of housework to do and a LOT of paperwork to do for tomorrow. I think I'll have dinner then an hour of tv before getting cracking.

Gotta be at work at 7am really tomorrow in order to get set up for my important meeting.

No spends on lunch and store cupboard dinner.

Really looking forward to the weekend (even though I'm working Saturday morning).

    Yawn.

So the weekend is finally here. Finally. Feels like this was the longest week of my life. No spend day.

So a few hours of o/time tomorrow morning= no lie in. I can handle that though, happy to get the money and can crawl back to bed afterwards.

Tonight will be a quiet one- just listing laptop and blind on ebay. Some stuff sold today so some cash coming in.

OH just checked his bank balance and not only has his £30 for the week gone (we both get paid in 1 week) in charges from Santander:mad:, the charges have put him over the overdraft limit and now he's paying £5 a day for the privilege. Nightmare.

That £30 was for groceries, smokes,, one day's travel etc. I have £24 in my bank account but I'm not 100% on the balance as my transactions take a while to clear.

In terms of groceries for 7 days, I have enough for evening meals and breakfast, maybe just milk. I have £3 on a tesco card and a couple of quid in cash. I'm not phased as a couple of ebay items that sold will be picked up over the weekend and thats enough to tide us over. It will just be a BORING week of staying in.

I'm frustrated as OH doesnt have online banking so he generally has no clue of his bank balance unless he's visited a ATM which he's trying not to do- he's tried to set it up a few times and nothing's been sent through. When he transfers to co-op (I hope it all goes ok), then I will make sure it's all set up and it's checked regularly.

    Tonight I will:
    get laundry on
    tidy bedroom
list blind and laptop on ebay
    washing up
    clean down kitchen
cook simple dinner- pizza, chips and salad

Must also remember to pick up parcel on the way to work.

Busy day for me so far. I have:

    1) done 3.5 hours over time
    2) picked up parcel from depot- was watersaving devices
    3) fitted watersaving shower head and shower timer
    4) posted mobile phones to mfyp
    5) responded to insurance claim- they wrote saying I needed to forward the emails proving I'd actually bought the product- I've just forwarded them- just frustrated by the inefficiencies in their own system!
    6) checked online banking
    7) did food shopping- went to Mr T not market due to time.
    8) buyer of an ebay item collected it- he was chuffed so hopefully that's more good feedback
    9) arranged another item to be collected on Monday
    10) in process of arranging another to be collected

    Still to do:

    1) cook a lasagne and shepherd's pie- worked well being made in advance so will do again this week as we're so skint- DONE
    2) laundry
    3) washing up
    4) clean kitchen
    5) clean bathroom
    6) wash bedsheets
    7) hang up dried laundry
    8) tidy bedroom
    9) bake cakes- DONE
    10) hoover flat
    11) find 5 items for ebay- this will be a challenge!
    12) go through storage coffee table- need to find my degree and post-grad degree certificates for my MA enrolment- I'm already doing MA but they need to see them to enrol onto another module
    13) email course administrator to sign up for summer intensive modules
    14) make a batch of ratatouille to accompany meals this week- DONE

Suffering severe lack of energy- just checked cupboards and there is NO coffee. Nightmare. Gotta power through. Only first part of batch cooking done. Now to hit the housework running- wish me luck!

    Hi all,

NSD as stayed in. Once OH went to work I went back to sleep for hours then spent the rest of the day either snoozing or reading. At 5 I started to feel guilty- OH would come in and moan that I haven't done anything so I've put some laundry on and cleaned the bathroom and bedroom.

I am being petty though and not moving his clothes from the floor. ALl mine are tidied away and I've made the bed. Just frustrated that we've spent a lot of money on an extra wardrobe and he's still using the floor! To top it off we have one of those laundry bins that has each compartment labelled lights and darks!!!!

Just feels a lot like I'm putting in all the effort to cook, clean, buy groceries, meal plan, make lunches, laundry, sort paperwork, organise him with work stuff etc. He on the other hand plays computer games! It's like living with a teenager sometimes. It reaches a point where I'm asking him to do this which creates tension as then I'm feeling like I'm nagging him- but if I don't do that then I end up doing 100%. When I've spoken to him about it he does sometimes do something but it's never sustained. Honestly it was so much easier living by myself!!!! I just want him to notice the bin needs taking out (his task) and do it without me having to ask, or notice that the laundry is dry so put it away, or swig some cleaner round the toilet, or put some dried dishes away.....anything. Just a bit of initiative.

I read today that 40% of a co-habiting couple's arguments centre around household chores- so true.

Asides from leaving all his mess around and waiting for him to do it (which isn't a huge help as it means the place is still messy), I'm lost for ideas.

Anyway, today I have lots to do still- I HAVE to wrap and address all my ebay stuff although I'm not sure I can afford to post it all tomorrow. I've got around £6 coming tomorrow when someone collects something else from ebay so hopefully that will help- just means my postage times will be slow. Also my laptop finishes tomorrow night so hopefully I'll be able to arrange a quick pick up for that.

    Sigh.

Onto washing up, cleaning aand wrapping ebay sales.

It's official- I'm being petty. I've tidied up after myself and done my laundry and left OH's. Oh dear- let the games begin. Hee hee.

I hear you, I really do. My OH moved in November last year and honestly, I didn't know he was THAT untidy. I used to have a dining table, but now it resembles a clothing display in a shop as he just dumps his clothes on it. There are always clothes on the bedroom floor, he NEVER takes the bin out or the recycling - it is always up to me.

We agreed when he moved in that I would do the kitchen (he is useless at washing up) and he would do the bathroom as I can't stand cleaning the toilet. I asked him to clean the toilet the other week and he went off on one - seriously threw his toys out of the pram. I just stood there in shock and when he finished his little tirade I said 'will you take a look at yourself?' and then stormed out the flat. When I got back, the toilet was cleaned and he apologised :rotfl:.

I feel like I am constantly asking him to do stuff, which he always says 'I'll do it tomorrow', 'I'll do it later' etc etc. Of course it never gets done. I just wish that he would use his eyes and look at what needs doing instead of me having to point it out.

I've tried the leaving his mess around thing, but I think he actually likes living like that!! I want a tidy flat. Sometimes I really wish that I still lived on my own. When OH house-shared with his mate, he always blamed his mate for the mess - I now know who's mess it really was!!

    I feel your pain :o.

Oh man our OHs sound like twins! It's so frustrating! We only have a one bed place. My goal when debt free is to save to get a 3 bed place.

What happens then? The mess will just be worse as he'll spread it out as the space is bigger. Once I'm debt free and in a bigger place I'm planning to get a cleaner once a week- for a once-over, cleaning bathrooms/kitchen/floors/dusting/hoovering etc, possibly ironing. But if OH carries on making mess everywhere I'm going to be cleaning for the cleaner!

Sigh. I love him so much- I don't understand why he can't just do 15 minutes a day- that's all it would take. Plus cleaning up mess he makes as he goes along. Nightmare.

We should start a support group!
