Why is it that on a Sunday night the only thing I want to do is veg out and curl up on the sofa? Where has all my energy gone?!

Perhaps the thought of the week ahead has drained me- or maybe surviving 12 more days on £77. I suppose that's £6 a day- more than I spend on lots of days anyway.

Sigh. Feeling blue. No news on ebay items yet- man I'm impatient, I only put them up today!

Also, just realised from checking my creditexpert that although my debt with Next is written off (no CCA), it's defaulted and stands at £774. I need to pay this off too so my credit file says nothing owed COMPLETELY. I wish I'd understood that no CCA meant default. I'd have rather paid it and had no default.

    Woe is me.

just a quickie, the last opticians check up I had was with the Tesco opticians, they do a free one and mine was quite detailed. Other places do offers if you buy glasses you get test free or i think boots had a offer of a free one or one for a fiver a while ago.

    good luck.

Thanks for this- good to know. My next test is in a year so I'm hoping to have some savings to cover this and maybe they'll still be similar offers around.

It is tipping it down! Lucky that I'm inside and warm. Love listening to the rain- a simple and free pleasure in my otherwise mundane evening.

Phew, glad today is over. Had disappointing news regarding my payrise at work- will speak to the boss, see if it's correct. I'm due a big leap in scale in 2 years...it's just that 2 years is a long way away and I want to get debt free and buy a house!!

    I have today...

    1) called Sky- reduced package by £15 by cancelling Sky Talk- we have never used it as we have lots of minutes on mobiles and I use saynoto0870 to get cheaper numbers

    2) confirmed with Egg that they need to close my account and mark it as settled/satisfied on my credit file- it has had a zero balance for 2 years nearly (well, not zero, 50p in credit which of course I've asked for them to return!!)

    3) found some water saving devices for free from Thames Water via hotukdeals- especially looking forward to trying out 4 minute shower timer on OH!

    4) made 80p today and then spent 90p so I'm 10p down today

    5) sold an ebay item for £21.00 including p and p- but I'm overdrawn in my paypal account so I can't do anything with the funds

    6) roast dinner now cooking and filling flat with yummy smells

    7) called tv license people to arrange direct debit- and need to do car insurance too

    no rest for the wicked:cool:

£24.40 for 2 old mobiles that were lying around the flat- easy money. Just gotta wait for freepost bag to come through.

Now to chase quidco for £75.00 and another refund £58.95.

Return dress tomorrow that I bought on ebay- mistake- they accept refunds but funds will just go back into paypal and offset my paypal 'overdraft!'

Why are Tuesdays so long? The weekend seems so far away...sigh.

    Today:

    1) NSD again

    2) toad in the hole in the oven and smelling great- will serve with veg

    3) Had packed lunches- will bake some cakes later to go in the lunches for tomorrow onwards

    4) got 2 bottles of vino free today from a friend who'd been given them but doesn't drink- awesome :T

    5) got electricity bill reminder- that's £90 out of next budget

    6) trying to fix old laptop to flog on ebay but step 1 didn't work, will take it in to work tomorrow to see if tech guys can help

    7) OH had rubbish day at work- worrying times. He heard murmurings of moving his department to a different office= end of contract? Fingers crossed it's not.

    9) Egg confirmed they're refunding my 50p!

Everything today is annoying, frustrating, irritating and infuriating. Can you sense I'm in a great mood?

Not much money saving today, although some positives:

    1) only spend £1.60 but then got £1.20 back for something so only 40p down

    2) envelope arrived for posting off mobiles to get cash- they recommend sending it special delivery even though the envelope is prepaid. Any thoughts? I begrudge having to pay to post it but I suppose it's security

    3) not venturing out to uni- not in the frame of mind for it. will have a long hot shower, get in some comfy clothes and chill with OH and maybe a glass of free wine.

    4) was invited on holiday over the summer for a fortnight- OH will be working and 7 weeks of sitting around is not as appealing as chilling on a beach. will go through budget later when i'm chilled to see if it's feasible.

    5) storecupboard dinner (shepherd's pie)

I spent some time today looking at properties just to get an idea of mortgage amounts/what we could get for our money. It just showed me how far off it is! The idea is to buy in 2013 and from Jan 2012 start saving like a crazy person for a deposit- it's feasible to save half my wage as my debt repayments will be finished. I think as I'm in an off mood I just feel depressed about renting for at least 2 more years.

What will snap me out of this mood???

    Sorry you're having a gloomy day :o.

On the phone thing, I sent off a phone by normal post and it got there fine. But mine was only for £5. Would it be covered if you just got proof of postage from the Post Office? I would be tempted just to send it freepost but it depends if you want to protect your £24?

Thanks Emz- just having one of those days where you feel utterly defeated and that nothing is possible- not a good place to be in!

Royal Mail website says it'll be £2.73 recorded delivery. I think i'll do it just to be on the safe side- then try to re-coup the cost elsewhere, maybe list some extra stuff on ebay etc. I've picked up 3-4 hours overtime on Saturday which is £40 an hour and will go some way to making up the deficit in my wages this month (I'm down £225 a month for 5 more paydays- roll on November 2011!)
