ok 100 postage bags of different sizes, 6 large rolls of clear packing tape, a roll of large labels and a large roll of bubble wrap all purchased for less than £20. Used OH's card as his half of printer money for tomo. Printer is £34.99, reserved and picking up tomorrow.

I have a couple of items to list on ebay for collection only, will aim to do that tonight so it's out of the way.

Then I can get cracking with lots of other stuff.

I need to work out how to pay for postage online- off to investigate- that way, size permitting, I can drop parcels in postbox all wrapped and paid for.

Postage online is quite easy just make sure your scales are accurate and make sure you really tape the labels on even if you use stickers becuase I had a few were it got ripped off in Royal fails hands x

I bought some postal scales for £5.89 on ebay- so I'm all set.

Does it have to print onto special labels or just onto A4 paper which you can cut and stick?

You can print on to normal A4 and stick it on :) x

If you send recorded you can even ask your post office for some stickers so you can take it in and all they need to do is scan it onto the system :)

Holding off on buying printer- my ebay sales don't end for another 8 days so I can get this next weekend finances permitting.

    Nothing on 1poll

    No change on cred1texpert

2 cashback payments of £60 yet to track on qu1dco

    £100.71 in bank.

    26 days til payday

No update on my phone upgrade order- annoying! The sooner is gets here the sooner I can sell the old one (which I will send recorded delivery)

Aside from the printer, I can't see any other purchases that I'd need before payday. Work clothes are sorted, petrol is sorted, food is sorted, stocked up on household stuff. When we run out of cat food/litter it should be payday although if we run out a little sooner I can raid OHs penny jar as I got the last lot in.

The only other outgoing then will be ebay postage cost and waiting to recoup those when payments clear from paypal into bank.

I aim to list one thing on ebay every day for the whole of January to create a rolling income even if it's only dribs and drabs.

    ____________________________________________________________

My card balances that I want to tackle in January are:

    LPF- 201
    Ikea- 390
    Barclaycard- 485

These will all have interest added onto them and I'm going to tackle them in order of size of balance.

    January outgoings look like:

    £690.20- rent and bills
£250- phone bills, car insurance, credit expert and nail appointment
£30- charity- starts in Jan 2012
£180- petrol and food for me for entire month
£50- minimum payments on all debt

    = £1200.20

Which should leave me with £1300 ish from my wages plus £400 from OH

    = £1700

£1000 towards vehicle leaves me with £700 to clear LPF and Ikea

Anything extra could feasibly be paid off Barclaycard

    February outgoings look like:

    £563.20- rent and bills
£250- phone bills, car insurance, credit expert and nail appointment
    £30- charity
£180- petrol and food for me for entire month
£180- savings (xmas, gifts, car expenses, household bills, rainy day)
£20- minimum payments on all debt

    = £1223.20

Which should leave me with £1250 ish from my wages plus £400 from OH

    = £1650

£750 towards vehicle and £625 to friend leaves me £275 to clear whatever remaining Barclaycard balance is:eek:

    March outgoings look like:

    £563.20- rent and bills
£250- phone bills, car insurance, credit expert and nail appointment
    £30- charity
£180- petrol and food for me for entire month
£180- savings (xmas, gifts, car expenses, household bills, rainy da
£10- minimum payments on all debt

    = £1213.20

Which should leave me with £1250 ish from my wages plus £400 from OH

    = £1650

£750 towards vehicle (final payment) and £625 towards friend leaves me with £275

This are my initial plans of the first 3 months of the year but there are other costs to factor in. A wedding (accommodation, gift, outfit, spends for bar- I will do all of these as cheaply as possible and get cashback where possible).

From April OHs contribution rises to £450 as he has to pay all the car insurance by himself for his vehicle (my old one) as my new one will be paid off and I will have another to insure

I can't be sure of my wages until Jan's wage slip although I will have a little extra in that so really Feb's wages so there may be a little wiggle room

Obviously in April council tax will be back but I also won't have any payments for a vehicle so I can clear everything much more quickly. It feels like the snowball is at the top of the mountain ready to roll down but I just have to wait a few weeks to see it.

I haven't factored other incomings/outgoings such as money I'm due for selling a mobile, quidco, ebay sales and costs or any socialising. Any incoming WILL go straight of the cards in the order of smallest balance to free up a little room in monthly budgets.

These are my mutterings and wanderings. I'm sure there are lots of things I've forgotten I just can't think of many.

Maybe I should factor in £50 a week for spends? That way any small day to day things that crop up won't knock me off course. ANy money not spent will be paid off a debt?

    Mmmmm

Forgot to say, obviously there are ways to complete this journey a little quicker (don't start savings accounts, don't give to charity, cut out sky, cut out treats) but I won't. Savings are important as it means I'll be all prepped for xmas and gifts in 2012/might be able to pay car insurance in one go March 2013/gives me a bit of a cushion/makes a holiday look feasible. Charity is important as I want to do this and now is as good a time to start giving as any. Sky has replaced boozy nights out and will provide me with entertainment as I embark on my new diet. Treats are important- no treats means I fall off the wagon but a manicure once a month means I have something to look forward to that's already budgeted.

  • Happy New Year

Your budget looks good, and I agree with you on not cutting the sky/savings/treats etc, obviously it would be differnt if you was on a minus every month but your not. You need to have some "nice" things :D x

    2012 is here.

All the usual resolutions: lose weight, get debt free, start savings etc

    Nothing on onepoll today

    No news on quidco

    No change on creditexpert

One ebay item up to £16.01 and one at £0.99. Others have watchers but no bids.

Toying with idea of changing my payments around from my above post but nothing to report on that yet

    £85.72 in bank
