    Hiya!

Despite your worries, you do sound as organised as you always do. Did you mean you can only afford $50 per month for the diesel (sorry my pound sign has gone for a walk!)

What I tend to do when things aren't going as well as I'd like is keep planning, planning, and inevitably a fresh outlook on a new day brings new thoughts and possibilities. It may be that you need more regular hours, but do see what the possibilities are with things as they are - is it possible you can pull things round maybe, with some drastic short-term measures, or over a few months? After some time has passed you might decide more hours are the way forward but at least you know all the other possibilities aren't quite right for you.

Thanks Jo - feeling a bit better today - just waiting for payslip to arrive so can get everything sorted as we desperately need some food shopping I am like ol mother hubbard. Not much I can do in the short term - did think about chaging mortgage to interest only but really this is a last resort and dont want to do this just yet - really its a back up idea.
Yes unfortunately the diesal basic budget is £50 which means me and little one wont go far during the week and if I need I will have to top up out of family spending money.
Have go about another 10 items on ebay and have loads of watchers on one of my items. I have also been given an old item to sell which I am going to research a bit first as I think it might be worth something.
I will keep plodding away with my planning and have decided any money I make on ebay I am going to put away for next year for a little holiday for us all as this is something to really look forward too! x

  • sorry to see you seem a bit down pinky. Have you thought about offering to sell a few bits and pieces on ebay for friends or family? Maybe keep 20% or a percentage of what you make. It might not be much, but every little helps, sometimes people might be glad to get shot of stuff, and make a few bob, but dont have time to do it themselves.

Have got a few bits off family thanks KT - have them scheduled to list on sat night - have lots of watchers on one of my big items - but wish someone would bid on it lol.
Have done a shopping list but cant place order till tues when DH has been paid am really hoping slip comes today so I can work out the final budget. Am going to by a new blind for the bathroom £12.99 which I have seen and our boiler needs servicing sometime this month so i need to find out how much this will be. Might ring the man today and ask him at least I know then and can account for the money.
Have a couple of little items I want to get for Xmas - stocking filler items and I have a fair idea of what the kids want - unfortunately this year it is really expensive stuff so need to start saving again lol!
Going to have a day at home today homework/a long walk. Cant wait till tuesday so I can pay bills and get some shopping:)
Hope everyone is well - enjoy your bank holiday weekend!

Am feeling so pleased at this at last it is under the 3000 mark and I can see it going down.
    Today I have also-
    - Bought new storage boxes and sorted all toys in unit
    - Paid bills online
    - Done food shopping order
    - Showed DH all finances and budget for the month
    - Paid back D mum money I owed her
Need to keep a eye on ebay now as have about 15 items listed - not going to add anymore now so I can keep on top of things.
So def feeling a bit more cheerful today! I also ordered a new little book to keep a daily check on my spending but I have a pot now in the kitchen cupboard with cash in to pay for weekly fresh items eg milk & bread I am hoping this will stop me using my card and overspending on items we dont need - will update you in this at the end of the month.
Right am off to update sig now whoo hoo! xx

Thanks everyone! Am feeling chuffed - now need to get the next £1000 paid off lol:D
So had a wander round a village craft/jumble sale today. Luckily was all inside as it was windy and rainy this am. I managed to get the kids 2 dvds £1 each. I got 2 lovely tops for me for £3.50. I got 2 tops and 2 dresses for DD for £4 and a brand new duvet set for £2.50. So am really pleased with my buys. DD loved the clothes too!:)
Having a quiet pm - all ironing done and washing hung out, just have DD1's bed to make up then will do other beds next couple of days. I find if I do all the beds in one go it backs all my washing and hanging space up - which is no good if it is raining and you cant get it outside.
Am enjoying the preparing for winter thread and so far I have
    - created a hat & gloves box
    - found hot water bottles for everyone
    - found a storage box which i have started adding candles and torches and matches too
    - Filled the coal store
    Next month I will-
    - Get oil
    - get another clothes drier I can use downstairs to take advantage of the heat from the stove and avoid using the tumble drier.
So those are the plans for the mo.
Hope everyone is having a nice relaxing sunday;)
