Do you do online surveys, you canmake a nice bit of money from them by xmas, i find lightspeed and valued opinions to be the best, also global test marketing are ok, you could probably get a couple of payments from them before christmas, which would give you about £60. Also cashback sites, i got about £150 last year from doing the free things on them, like signing up for trials and bingo etc. Apologies if you already know this.

Lauhen- have started doing the free bingo sites etc but will do more of this if I save up enough to leave work as I struggle now - great idea though!
Have managed another NSD day today yey! Checked bank and not in overdraft yet - yey. Have enough of my weekly spend over for a yummy chinese tomorrow night. We have been fab this week and stuck to our meal planning and it has gone very well. So this weekend will redo the plan for next week and see what i need to get. I have just run out of washing powder so will have to have a look about and see if their any great deals on.
Got DD and her friends bd pressies a DS game each total £8 and I used my paypal so am pleased with these bargains got them on the grabbit board!
Things I must do now are -
    check stuff for packed lunches
catch up on some ironing when babes are in bed
look around for a decent deal on washing powder

  • Hi pinky,

pleased menu planning is going well. I always find it helps & it means I don't have to think too hard about what to have for tea!!

Hope the weather isn't too bad where you are, we have 3feet of snow, and no signs of it shifting!!

Unfortunately Katie we too have lots of snow and absolutely no chance of it shifting - already lost a days pay as work was closed one day this week - boo hoo.
Nothing selling on ebay but have a few watchers so will keep my fingers crossed. Have loads to list but testing the waters as such at the mo!
Am a bit gutted we will have to use some of DH overtime for oil this month so thats less of the debt than I hoped but I am going to phone today and check when my DDebit ISA finishes then this money can go towards the credit card. I keep thinking gosh when all my debts are paid we are going to be monthly around £350 better off wow loads dont think I will go back to our old spending ways ever now! We are far too money savvy! Our weekly budget is spent but we have enough for a takeaway tonight and will try and have 2 NSD's over the weekend.
Then monday I can take my next weeks budget.
I am really hoping this works as it is a good indication of what life will be like when leave work (except will will have on top of our £100 weekly budget another £120 and also any overtime DH earns so thats not too bad)
Now once the Ccard is paid off we will start to tackle our loan we got to consolidate the last credit card - yes really silly I know think lots of us have been there - wish I had found this site before - Nevermind onwards and upwards in 2010!!!

Well have had a busy weekend so far. Went for shopping and spent £57 which was more than I hoped but.. I relised last time I went for a proper shop was day before christmas eve so have done quite well. The only other bits I bought were milk, fruit and bread. My freezers are fairly full now so not as bad as I thought and meal planning done for this week. Off to MIL for our dinner she is a star bless her. Today should be a NSD but we have run out of sugar - hmm does that count still?
I have also decided to do what some others have done and give my nasty credit card a name - any ideas guys???
Last night I did 2 hours overtime and wrote down potential payments I would like to make off credit card. I am going to transfer these to proper spread sheet so we can tick them off as the payments are made.
DH has done a spreadsheet so we can see how much electric we are using so next year we can budget more effectively for this. We have energy saver light bulbs, try not to use tumble drier (though v hard at the mo) etc etc you get the gist.
Have had a hectic morning already, cleaned the bathroom, done all ironing, 2 kids room tidied, washing on, DH has cleaned kitchen.
This pm plan is - homework and reading, downloading some pics for work, changing some of the beds, packing bags for tomorrow.
    Have a lovely day everyone!:cheesy:

  • Pleased to see you are staying organised & motivated, Pinky. What's that about giving your credit card a name? Not sure I get that!

Hi katie - I think naming the debt reminds you it's bad and we want rid! LOL
Today MIL offered to pay our credit card for us - it was sooo nice of her but I think she was thinking it was a few hundred bless her. She made us a lovely quiche for our tea which means all thats left for me too do is crack open the ice-cream for pudding lol!

Bless your mil for offering to pay your cc, sometimes I would love to have family nearby who could have the kids for tea or something, but they all live over 2 hours away.

Lauren - yes she is very kind bless. I am really lucky with in laws and parents, they help us out loads and with kids. I would have struggled without them and the kids love them all too bits!
Have had another busy day, am managing to keep on top of the housework, just need to do some ironing tomorrow. I rang halifax today and found that my last £100 payment comes out next week so that will free £100 per month for my credit card. DH reckons he has a fair bit of overtime coming the next few months so that is really good to hear. Will keep my fingers crossed that it will help hit the debt a bit quicker.
I have sold 2 items on ebay last night and both have be paid for so I just need to post. I have also wrapped all bd pressies for this month and written cards - thanks pipsmum for that tip!
I must get a sealed tin as all the change is driving round the bend hanging round the house I will try and find a pot till I go shopping for now.

Great news on freeing up the £100 per month.
I finished paying up a loan at the end of last year & have now set up a standing order to go to my credit card for the same amount.
Even if I can only keep it going for a few months it all helps to bring the totals down.
