Haha not very refreshed doesnt reallly go with the territory. Have spend all day entertaining kids and trying to catch up on washing and ironing - managed 2 hours work also and feel shattered now. House still a bit untidy but am getting their. Really wish I didnt have to go back to work on monday :(Didnt hear about the other job I went for so am assuming I didnt get it - but I have another few things I am going to apply for so trying to keep my chin up. Spent £15 today on a morning out with kids, parking and and icecream and have £8 left in my purse - kids enjoyed the park and a run around we also took a picnic so everyone was happy.

I know Jo - I slept soundly last night for sure

Couldnt lie in this am so got up loads of ironing - sorted washing, helped kids with homework, pooped out for a cuppa with mum, then had a lovely meal prepared by DH - twas lovely:)
Have looked at my credit card today which with the extra shopping and diesal previous months and some venture pics:mad: put it to £3800 - however with the payments I am making this month will be around the £3400 mark:)
So next month we need to make £198 overtime or whatever and this will take my credit card to under £3000 - which I think will give me a huge psycological boost!
I have done 3 hours and DH is hoping to do some extra work - I have a few bits for ebay so keeping fingers crossed!!
Had a nice day today but am wrecked and ready for a long hot soak before sorting clothes for work tomorrow!

Just dropping in to say hello! I will let you know how I get on with the meal planning... do you do an online shop or an in-person one? I'm worried I'll not be able to stick to my list and get tempted by all the offers if I actually go to Tesco!

Hi PPatti - thanks for dropping by. I do my meal planner (with an element of flexibility) and then do my shopping list from this. I do a big Asda order then have a cash budget in the house for weekly, bread, milk fruit and veg. As we have the meals we cross them off the list. This weekend we ate mainly at famiilies so have a bit over at the mo. DH was away last night so had left overs the night before. I sort of do it this way
Monday 14th - Spag Bol
Tuesday 15th - chicken casserole
Any leftovers DH takes for lunch or uses in sandwiches.
I am def in budget so far for the month. I spent £90 at Asda and only £4 so far this week on fruit and milk. I will update on how it goes but at the moment seems to be the best method I have tried - heres hoping:D
On the money front things are ticking over nicley. Fam allowance has gone in today so will pay for kids activities and tax stamps and xmas savings. If I can manage on what is in current account may have £100 to come off Ccard. Still aiming for that £198 - must phone DH and check if he has any overtime.
Off to the gym tonight and kids having tea at mums so its always a treat to have some me time.
Hope everyone has a nice day! x

Grocery budget going along great isn't it? Really wish we could do it like that, it would be my ideal but unfortunately as OH gets paid weekly then weekly it has to be.
We have a surplus from last week of food too, ours is because DDs spent most of the week at my parents so doing my best to utilise it wisely!Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Yep seems to be working for us Jo - but like you say we get paid monthly, weekly - yep would have to think about that one lol.
Its amazing what you have left over when someone is away isnt it:D
Had a NS day today and made a lovely pasta bake which will do me for tomorrow also. Got some lovely clothes given for DD1 some really good makes - really chuffed and so was DD. have a few birthdays coming up so need to try and pick up some cheap birthday cards and look for a few little gifts. Will take a look on the grabbit board.
Have a quiet afternoon tomorrow so when I am in from work am going to try and get little one down for a nap and have 2 beds and some ironing to get cracked on with before it gets out of control!
Not much else to update really - x

Feeling a bit yucky today. DH has been working away all week and I am exhausted. I am finding it so hard working and looking after the kids and everything that goes with it - Dsister said the other day 'but it must be getting easier'. Ermm no, more washing, they never stop eating, friends around, taxi runs, days out, swimming lesson and so on - dont get me started on the ironing pile:mad: Just feel like I never have a minute to myself - right sorry moan over now!:D
Not much happening on the money front fam allowance still in post office as not had chance to get it, asda uniform in town p office - havent got time to collect. Have had to cancel kids clubs as DD needs to go to hairdresser - am hoping other 2 will behave while we are there! I could really do without this tonight. I have fathers day stuff to get, birthday stuff and a busy weekend ahead so am not sure how to do everything at the mo? May have to do some internet shopping?
Anyway must go and wake little one up - no rest for the wicked eh!

Hi pinky,
I sympathise, we all have days like that!! Still you seem to be doing well, and keeping at it. You must be pleased that your cc debt is coming down. Hope you get a bit of a rest at the weekend, it is the most tiring job in the world, being a mum!!

I Know def the hardest job KT! I feel wrecked at the mo and never seem to have a minute to myself. Meal planning going well, bought fruit and milk today. Tea was lovely scampi and salad - yummy.
Kids have uniform order lists in their bags something I hadnt budgetted for so need to find money for jumpers - hmmm will have a think. Budget is really tight for the month. I was going to use £100 from next weeks tax credits off credit card but we really need diesal and I am struggling with the amount it costs - we have used the car less and less but me going to work is sucking all out money I am hoping to hear about a new job soon with less travel and hence less costs.
We also had an extra payment of £65 to come off card but my printer is broken and it is essential to my work so going to have to use this money to buy a new one:mad::mad: not happy. It is right what people say something always comes along and takes anything extra we have.
Still havent listed anything on ebay so must get myself motivated. Have lots of bds coming up so may pop to town tomorrow and try and get some bargains.
No overtime for DH either so cant budget any further overpayments as yet. Hoping tomorrow wont cost too much!:D
