I don't think the triple word score had been used already, unless I'm missing something?

but dont the standard rules say once a treble word score is used, it cant be used again? if these were used from a previous word already on the board, its not really right, depending on what rules you play.

The only existing letter on the board was the V which was on the third square down from the top left :)

And yes I am a nerd!

Well I reckon its okay for you to be a nerd Martin! I suspect if you weren't 'nerdy' about things and money saving you would never have set up this site for us all to benefit from.

And I for one couldn't imagine being without this board now - and my finances along with many, many others would be in a far greater mess!

In that case I'm a nerd too! We need a scrabble-nerd-anonymous club. Did anyone else see that programme that was on over Christmas about the world championships? They made an interesting point that those with more analytical brains would be better because they memorise word lists, rather than those who want to learn about the origins of words.

Sorry to !!!! a snoot but I would say that's a pretty rubbish and very ordinary treble treble score. Most players would be frustrated and embarrassed at the wasted opportunity and would not be blogging about it.

Well Martin at least this time you didn't have to resort to blantant cheating (see the easy way to win at scrabble blog) :rotfl: Well done though... MrT and I got a scrabbleboard just before Christmas and hate to admit I'm rubbish at it - I blame not being English... He tries to but I am ademant that Scottish is close enough ;)

its all relative Kim and your comment wasn't neccersary. Most players don't own one of the largest websites either and as its Martins if he wants to blog about it then he can

I think I must be missing a trick somewhere, I played quite a few times over Christmas and my highest score was 158 in total for a game! Then again I did have one game where the entire way through I got nothing out of the bag but multiple 'u' 'v' 'e' and a 'z'! I think the next MSE guide should be on how to play better scrabble!

If you're prone to games obsession, don't - and I mean DON'T - start playing Carcassonne...

Only had it since Christmas, and GF and I have played it 12 times...

And, yes, I am keeping score, and yes, I am in the lead!

    Happy New Year, Martin!
