I'm confused as to how Martin scored 158? those 6 letters score 7 (2 for the D and 1 for each of the others) plus the V scores 4. If you went over 2 treble word scores that would be 11*3*3 = 99 plus do you get 50 for using all your letters? So that would be 149?

Hmmm might need to remind myself of the rules from the back of the lid tonight.

Well done though - a very impressive score!

my best word score, years ago: with quisn and 2 blanks, and two vertical words ending in e and t, I got questions to straddle the two treble word squares along the bottom left, worth 203

it was a blunder, a friend watching the game pointed out afterwards

I could have put antiques on the right hand side, with the q on the double letter, worth 275 plus about 6 or 7

    I should've pointed out - between two trebles there is always a double letter score - so I believe the second e was on it - hence 12 x 3 x 3 + 50 was the score :)

Oh my... that is just a tad obsessive... I like it!!

I currently have 5 scrabble games on the go so I have no room to talk... and am on my way to my first ever 500 score!

Well done Martin on your high score.

Bought Scrabble for Christmas and started playing it with my boys. Play a game everyday. Best so far for me is 209 but not in one word, I'm just a beginner. :o

BTW, you looked reasonably healthy on GMTV this morning, hope the man flu is more or less gone.

but dont the standard rules say once a treble word score is used, it cant be used again? if these were used from a previous word already on the board, its not really right, depending on what rules you play.
