recorded delivery means that some one has signed for it I guess so the company cannot say they didn't receive it

Do you mean it needs to be recorded? Isnt it the same with email? read receipts mean someone has read it?
  • But if you have to go to court how are you going to prove you've received a "read receipt" for your email?

People generally sit up and take notice once they receive a Recorded Delivery letter as this suggests that you know what you're doing. Just send another copy of the same message again either tomorrow morning or on Monday as they should receive it on Tuesday morning reminding them that they have until close of business on Tuesday to respond to your email previously sent on x date for which a "read receipt" was received by at y time on x date.

Just be aware that the severe weather is causing long delays with the post in many areas. Also some businesses are short staffed for the same reason.

Arbiters need proof on paper - what proof do you have about the door not working ?

Surely he doesn't need to prove this?

It would be up to the LA or LL to prove that the problem with the door was due to the tenant and it was working before.
How can they do this? Simple with an inventory, that's what the're for.
But where is this inventory......... well the LL/LA never bothered to get one so the tenant should get all their money back.
