Broadband with no minimum contract??

Hi all.
I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend a broadband provider with no minimum contract. I just want to use the internet for july and august so do not want to pay for a full 12 months.
I did have a browse around but it seems many of the companies require a 12-month contract.
Thanks. :-)

You must be joking!
Read the small print:
"For every year you stay with PlusNet we'll guarantee that the cancellation cost decreases. What does this mean? If you cancel within the first year, then you will pay £47 for the activation. For every year you stay we'll reduce this by £9.40. If you also choose to take a modem as part of the offer there will be an additional cancellation fee of £25 in the first year and this will reduce by £5 for each year that you stay."

Is that a 'no' then?Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0

Most ISP's look to recoupe the costs of activation now, if you leave within 12 months. Virgin.net was one of the last, but have introduced a £50 cancellation fee if leaving within 12 months.Infidel wrote:Is that a 'no' then?
Try Freeola (a reseller of EntaNet). Its a 3month trial (no activation fee, and discounted for the 1st 3 months). £9.99pm with 3GB cap, or £14.99pm with 330GB cap - on up to 8Mbps.
You'll see here, that EntaNet are pretty highly rated.
Hope that helps.0 -
Has anyone had any experience of freeola?
Do i need a phone line for that or cable?
Actually i just read that you need a BT phoneline, i am actually on NTL at the moment.

Zen and Newnet, I think, have a month's notice. Newnet does a residential broadband connection from between £13 and £14.0

Now owned by Pipex.
More small print:
*Activation price waived subject to the service being retained against the same uninterrupted and unchanged BT Line Rental Contract for a minimum of 6 months, otherwise standard activation fee of £49.99 is due.

As I just wrote in another thread - Nildram have a one month minimum term and are the dogs dangly bits.
£47 cancellation fee if you cancel in first 12 months though, or a £47 activation fee for anyone connecting to the PAYG service which starts at £14 a month for up to 8MB speeds.matched betting: £879.63

Well, you won;t be able to use any ADSL ISPs then. You'll only be able to use NTL's internet service if you want broadband. I recall reading that you can also get AOL through cable (never seen this advertised myself).Infidel wrote:Has anyone had any experience of freeola?
