Hi there. Im thinking of moving my broadband from bt to plusnet but im a bit unsure as ive always been with bt. They are quoting me £15.99 pm just for b/band and i can apparently get Plusnet b/band for 5.99 pm. Does anyone have any ideas about plusnet who ive never heard of or is there anyone who knows of a good deal on at the moment Thank You

I have been with plusnet since March last year. It is good if you are a low to average user.
There is a monthly download limit of 10gb which I have found more than adequate for my needs. For some of the more specialist users eg P2P they throttle the speed at certain times, but they make that clear in their terms.
The £5.99 is only available if you are in a Market 3 Exchange ie one with hardly any LLU competion like Talktalk, SKY etc. Otherwise it rises to £11.99 after 3 months.
I have had no no problems but for those that do they have a very good forum policed my their staff who try to help.
PS Plusnet are ownwd by BT! but I believe they are allowed to run as a seperate business.0 -
Thanks for that notbritishgas according to what i read there s unlimited download from 12 midnite till 8am which is good i suppose. How do i find out for sure my bt exchange is " hardly any llu" competition as the guy from plustnet says im ok for the 5.99 one all year whereas the guy from bt said the opposite surprise surprise. Also is it easy to alter the router as ive always been with bt and am not too hot on pc matters but a saving of £120 in a year plus cashback is quite a tempting offer,0

We've had plusnet for 2 years and they are good. We've had the odd problem (bad connection at first, billed wrong) but their customer service is really good. They sort things out promptly if they can and in the case of our bad connection they did all sorts of testing for us.
They changed their plans since we joined but we have a limit of 30gb per month. If you go over they don't charge, they just limit your speed to dialup speed.
There is a website somewhere that finds your BT exchange and tells you its speed and which internet providers you can have... I forget the name sorry.0 -
Hi
Just joined (well connected to plus net) today the 4th and everything went smoothly
I am paying £ 21.99 per month and that includes broadband, line rental and anytime calls and weekend. I was paying a lot more with homecall.
I got several texts and emails guiding me through the process and I thought that was very good.0 -

Put your phone number in here samknows then click on the exchange name, when the details of your exchange come up scroll down until you can see 'Ofcom Classification' on the right hand side, if it says 'Market 3' you can get the £5.99 deal, if it says 'Market 1 or 2' you can only get the cheap deal for three months then it will go up to £11.99.0 -
Was it easy to alter your router to plusnet from your previous provider. Im a bit wary of these things and i dont want to end up without. Its encouraging to hear peoples views that plusnet seems to be ok though and it is a big difference from 15 99 which it would be if i stayed with bt to 5 99 if ichange to plusnet. Thanks0

I am new to PlusNet and was happy with the service setting up. The wireless router is only £6 for delivery if you want a new one: don't forget to switch via Topcashback for £38 free. IIRC you can plug your phone number into the PlusNet website and it will tell you what speed is at your telephone exchange and if it is unbundled.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

All you have to do is enter your username and pasword into your old router via the web interface, a 2 minute job.
Or opt for the free wireless router (£5.99 delivery charge). No free lunch, and no free laptop
