No, I was just wondering who you both thought were a better option. My main account is with the Nationwide and I have a joint account with the Abbey, neither of whom I've had problems with and neither of which had to be bailed out by taxpayers which I think says something for them.
Abbey might not have been bailed out but they certainly have taken advantage of it by "buying" the good bits of Bradford & Bingley on the cheap. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -

Bit melodramatic don't you think? Personally, I'm pretty happy with them and don't much feel like joining a boycott just because you're £20 down for a few days. But I'll be sure to tell everyone I know!

How the hell can you prove thatEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

if card services (that are dealing with it now) dont deal with it then i'll keep writing to higher and higher complaints departments until i am refunded

Playing Devil's Advocate (again!), what about MSE member allyssa whose Coop account has an unauthorised debit of £100 and the Coop refuse to do anything as they paid it in good faith?
Sorry I keep getting the link to allyssa's problem with the Coop messed up...please do a search.0 -

i've looked it up and that is an awful situation.
all banks have dissatisfied customers- if this was one issue i have had with abbey then fair enough but it isnt, it took me months to change my address with them (luckily my family still live at the old address) and i got a load of abuse off a branch manager when i politely requested a change of address form.things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

I'm just glad I've had no issues with the Nationwide in the 25+ years I've been with them. Withdrawing money in the local currency wherever if I've been on holiday with no charges and a better exchange rate has saved me so much. I'm looking for a similar account to spread my money around for security...hence my interest in what people think are good banks.0
