Depends how you would term 'vulnerable'.

I would put it that Ryanair makes a lot of money from people who didn't read the rules properly (if at all) and hence arrive at the airport often having to pay large fees. This is not pretty to watch.

However, if someone just reads the rules and stays within the rules, the chances of it happening again are virtually zero.

Now, to ask someone to understand some rules and apply for a pre-paid card, there are no pre-requisites. Even a minor could probably get the use of a prepaid one by asking someone else if they could use it. Thus, they dodge the bullets.

But for something like bank charges, to dodge their bullets, the solution seems easy: Always keep your bank balance above £0, preferably with a buffer of £200-£1000 to account for unexpected items. Seems simple, right?

But you try telling that to someone who is on benefits/unemployed/poor paid job/loads of kids/big debts who is living month-to-month on a paycheck, where the punishment of a bank charge is equivalent to 20-30% of disposable income...... now THAT is vulnerable.

Why do BA describe Gatwick as London?

They're no better or worse that Ryanair in that regard.

I thought the official name for Gatwick airport was now London Gatwick in the same was that Heathrow is now known as London Heathrow. London being the nearest city. Whereas in Spain, Barcelona, Girona and Reus are three separate cities with each airport serving a distinct region of Spain, ie the Costa Brava, Barcelona City and the Costa Dorada.

Presumably, to stop the likes of RyanAir from misleading the vulnerable, and many consumers are just that.

But Will .. didn't BA get prosecuted for " misleading " their customers a while back?

I seem to recall that they did.
