  • Ah man. This board really helps with my uni work if no-one ever minds. I'm from a family where we sometimes had to struggle to make ends meet... I'm now trying to become a child/family social worker.. Some of the people who study the same thing think its soo easy for some families we look at we had a case study thing before christmas on a family who couldn't afford a dinner let alone christmas presents.. one girl came back with "Oh.. they should've saved then, their fault". Some people make me so angry.

teabythesea (love your name!), I'm a child protection social worker so if there's anything I can help with just drop me a pm. Good luck, it's the most fantastic job, I love it.

and good luck to your boyfriend, hope he gets the job!

Pap - The tower in the park - Brandon Hill with Cabot Tower?

I love taking the kids to the museum in Blaize House (remembering that it is only open at the beginning of the week). A nice walk we do there is walking down past the house, down to the water mill, double back along the stream and then you bear left which brings you up to the church. You are then only a few minutes walk away back to the house.

Pap - I edited my post as soon as I posted it. With regard to that walk, I have often wondered where you got to, but never been brave enough to do it, especially as I normally have loads of kids with me when we go there

Thanks very much! Wow sounds like a fantastic job... I signed up to study 'Education studies' but it's now turned into childhood studies! I'm choosing my topics next year and really want to do social work but the hands on sort, my mum is doing a social work degree too! But I can't help feeling that there's SOOO much out there I want to do, and I want to do it all while helping children, and families and even their pet goat :rotfl:
I'd love to hear more about your job if you had some time to tell me:j

Many thanks, last time he applied for the same job we never heard anything, he only applied last night and got a call this morning, interview this friday.. I can't help but feel like it's a little bit of luck my way!!
