I've just re-organised my schedule a bit since I have finished work. I was doing everything in one day and it seemed to quickly need all doing again and I felt it wasn't all done as thoughly as I liked so now I do this....

    Monday All washing and drying
    Downstairs
Empty bins and put wheelie bin out.
Tuesday Clean hall, stairs, bathroom and bedrooms
Change towels, bedlinen and wash and dry
    Wed Out Am,
Iron PM (when baby asleep, I get nervous about babies and irons!)
    Thursday Quick wipe round kitchen
    Quick dust & vac downstairs
    Friday Quick wipe round bathroom
    Quick dust & vac upstairs
    Weekly shop
Saturday Garden and/or go out (garden is OH job as is washing car
but I often try to help!)

I like to make sure I do my jobs and then give my baby time and attention so I tend to take her out once she's had a nap and I have got these jobs done.

I have also made a chart with projects on for the extra jobs like vacuuming the mattress and upholstery and wiping the woodwork etc... this helps me not to feel overwhelmed by the jobs I want and need to get done. When I do the jobs I mark the box with the date.

I like this idea Moggins!!!! I missed your flylady challenge (being away for 2 weeks) but i had tidied the whole house before i went, so its not too bad now we are back. Hopefully, if i set out to do certain tasks as you have suggested, i should stay on top of it all.
So far i think my plan will be:-

Monday - Hoover and dust downstairs, bathroom.
    Tuesday - Kitchen floor.
Wednesday - Hoover downstairs and bathroom.
Thursday - Do my books, bills and sort out any post.
Friday - Hoover and dust downstairs, bathroom.
Saturday - Change all beds, weekly shop.
Sunday - Hoover and dust upstairs.

I will also be making the beds, cleaning the toilet and kitchen worktops everyday, washing is done when there is enough to go into the washing machine, and i only iron if i have to!!!!. The children normally keep their rooms clean, so i dont have to do that. Hopefully, i can keep to this, im going to write it on my board in the kitchen now to remind me what im planning on doing when!!!!

When I eventually get to this point:rolleyes: I have decided

washing-daily. We have too much to do otherwise

mon-kitchen/dining room -gets messy after weekend

tues-living room/hallway- my living room hasn't much in it but hallway is large and a dumping ground for DH ties, and suit jackets and briefcases and junk out of his car. Family coats, school bags and pushchair just add to clutter.

If I can do this that means by Tues all downstairs is done and it;s easier to keep DD entertained. Then rest of week when she is at nursery.

    wed - bedroom
    thurs - DD bedroom/bathroom
    fri - bedroom

Am putting small bedroom and bathroom together as these are smallest rooms and I have less time on Thurs than the other days. DH irons so I don't need to put this in.

Sat-Sun-prefer not to do any tasks, other than general wash pots etc. DH works long hours and is often away so this is only family time we have.

We have market here 3 times a week tues, fri, sat so will have to see where fits in best before making decisions on that.

Sorry dobie I missed your post before I put mine.

    Few suggestions....

I have cloth in the bathroom which looks like a small towel (nice not scruffy) and the family all use it to wipe the sink or bath after they use it.... yes they almost do it all the time! I also have a window blade thingy which we use to wipe down the shower walls after a shower. This keeps the limescale and grime off and keeps the bathroom looking shiny all the time. In the bathroom I have a spray bottle with half vinegar and half water and spray this on the sink and bath every other night and it gets rid of grime. (it smells a bit but in the morning the smell has gone). When I do come to cleaning its never really that dirty.

I also find if I keep the house tidy by putting everything in order before I go to bed ie put toys away, magazines, bits and bobs and plump up the cushions it looks alot better in the morning. Then, if you are cleaning the next morning its not as big a job.

thanks for the answers on the bed linen, I guess it surprised me as we love to have fresh linen for the weekend so we can lie in longer, not end of the week linen! Not saying that anyone is grubby just interested in when people change their linen.....why I have to ask myself oh why am I interested.....

thank you for bearing with me, I think I need to get out more!!!

DH wants to know if we could all include *sex* in the rosters. :D I told him girls, we will all be too tired doing our *chores*. :rotfl:
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Funnily enough Mr Pink asked the same question. I told him it was fine by me...Monday, Wednesday and Friday as long as he did the ironing on the same day. He was very quiet after that.;)

Why do they always leave their jackets and ties lying around? My DH has this habit of taking off his tie when he comes home and leaving it on the kitchen counter. EVERY NIGHT!! And every time the conversation is the same to take it upstairs. One week I left them, and surprise surprise, had a collection of ties by the end of the week

Routine, ritual or habit. I can't decide.

My husband does the same thing. I got him a tie rack for his birthday, but it's always me putting the ties on it, not him. Otherwise they'd be in the hall, in the bedroom, anywhere really....
