Organising Your Week - The Way Granny Used To Do It

I work FT plus a part time job 2 nights of the week, and so do all the household chores at the weekend. Having said that when I think about it both me and OH are quite tidy by nature, we wash dishes up straight away each evening, and tend to tidy up as we go along. I open all the post each day and file paperwork or make phone calls immediately, and we are quite strict with ourselves about getting rid of clutter so there's no so much to dust and tidy. We wash all colthes at the weekend, normally spread over 2 days and hung on airers, but on sunny days like today I can get several loads done in 1 day. I'm not very meticulous about dusting and hooving I must admit, but there's only me and OH so it doesn't get too bad.
I love all the threads about cleaning routines etc though and am making mental notes for a few years time when we start a family and I hope to become the model stay at home mum/ housewife with everything kept perfectly in order!Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0 -

As for ties - my suggestion would be to hide them as they are left lying around - and when they finally notice that they have no ties tell them that you've been throwing them away when they've been left lying around, and if they want to replace them they'll have to buy new one's (if they get any pocket money) Or.... even better - they can 'earn' them back by doing some of your chores :rotfl: :T :T :T

I'm with you too, I have great ideas about what I'm going to do each evening but sometimes I just don't have the will or the energy of an evening. Have to say though if I do have a couple of good nights cracking on with housework, ironing etc I tend to enjoy the weekend more.
Singleton, so not much mess to clean up but kitchen floor (I do lots of home cooking and baking which I freeze) and bathroom seem to get so grubby so quickly - aargh:mad:
Happy cleaning girls!0 -
Sorry darlings. Since I retired I have torn out the page in the dictionary that says routine. I keep the kitchen and bathroom scrupulously clean but everything else only gets done when it looks as if it needs done. When I get up on a sunny day........hey life's too short to do housework. I have sp much fun now xxx0

Oops that should read so much fun!!!0
