I don't think that it is often that sellers would give the shipping money before they get the item back, most of the time they expect you to send the items back then give you the money back if they were in the wrong or item faulty.
Glad to hear you had a good outcome. You stuck to your guns and didn't budge.

"If they were in the wrong" ??!!!! lol, methinks you need to read the thread....

I wouldnt have expected it if it was my mistake toastiest - but the seller sent the completely wrong item out, needing me (who didnt purchase the item in the first place!!) to send it back to them so they can give it to the correct person!
wont be buying from her again, thats for sure !!!!Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
lol, I wasn't trying to say that in your case it was not her fault. I was being general... As in that's how I've known returns to work for most of my online shopping. Clearly in this case the seller was at fault for sending the wrong items, but I would not have been surprised if she did not want to give me the shipping money before she got her item back.0

In general, I might agree with you.
But most definitely not in Trudi's case - that's not a general case.
The seller sent out the wrong item ( i.e. Trudi won pair of shoes A, seller sent pair of shoes
.
Trudi has (imho) bent over backwards to contact the seller, even telling her she was happy to keep shoes B.
I think Trudi was in the right to say 'no postage money up front, no return of shoes'.
Given that Trudi had copies of the emails she'd sent to the seller, saying she was amenable to repackaging the incorrect item and trekking to the Post Office to post them off - but only when she had been sent the postage first - the seller wouldn't have had a leg to stand on if she had raised a dispute.0 -

So OP raises a dispute in paypal and paypal say 'return the item and then we will insist the seller refunds original cost'. Paypal will not allow a refund before item is shown to have been received back with seller.
The only other option here is small claims but that costs money and also has no guarantee still of getting a full refund including return postage.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
