You will be lucky to get the return postage back . Ebay/ Paypal does not require this. If it went to a dispute all Paypal would do would refund the original payment on return of the goods. Paypal/ebay cannot force the seller to refund the return postage to you. A good seller would have done this though.

Your only options are to request the sellers details and phone them and see if actually talking to them may force there hand.

The OP now has 2 pairs of shoes:
    • PAIR #1: The pair she DIDN'T win that were sent in error, which she would prefer to return but doesn't see why she should pay postage for a mistake by the seller. Neither do I. It's not like she decided she didn't like the item or they didn't fit. They weren't the ones she won.
    • PAIR #2: The pair she DID win (which may or may not have been sent to the winning bidder of pair #1)

I'd contact the seller by email and ask her to send the return postage for pair #1 either by paypal or by cheque.
Tell her the ball is in her court now and you're not prepared to pay for postage caused by her error.
You're being inconvenienced by having to wrap the wrong pair up and make a trip to the Post Office as it is.
I'd be inclined to do this by email as you will have proof of your attempts to resolve this.
If no reply in a couple of weeks, I'd then try to ring her.
I assume that the other buyer (winning bidder of pair #1) will be pushing for her shoes or a refund so that may make the seller get this sorted.

    Good luck

Thanks Pollycat I must have skimmed that bit personally I would send them one email stating that the items are waiting to be picked up or they could arrange to send you the money and you will be willing to post back. Then leave it at that if they sort it out fine. If they do not you have made sufficient attempts to return the item

You two are amazing - thankyou very much. Ive sent her 2 or 3 (cant remember off the top of my head now!) mails, through ebays contact the seller bit from my winning page(so that ebay have record of me contacting her!!) and havent heard anything other than the original answer where she told me to send them back. ( in answer to my "im happy to send them back as soon as the postage gets put into my paypal account") had she have said that shed refund me when she sent my shoes, Id have been happy with that !!!

Shes already left me my feedback, and i havent done hers as yet - though i can see speed and contact being really quite low... ;) (not to mention description and cost of postage!!!) so I guess Ive done more than my bit in trying to return them - she can flipping well get her bum in gear if she wants them back !!!

Send them to her with no postage on, she can pay when the postman delivers them to her, easy peasy.

    Resolved.

I got home tonight to find an email from her
hello, its been a long time since i`ve sent you the right shoes and i still havent recieved the other pair i sent before. the persone who originally bought them will open a case soon if they dont get the item. please get back at me about this matter as soon as possible. thanks

as a REPLY to the message I sent her on the 13th,saying that it would cost £3, and I was wondering what to do as I hadnt heard anything more from her yet...

to which i thought "cheeky biatch - its not like I havent tried!!" so sent her this in reply...
Ive contacted you about this three or four times now over the time its been going on,with no response from you at all - they are packed up all ready to come back to you as soon as I get the postage put in my paypal account. Its about £3 in total for me to send them back to you - and my email for paypal payments is ..............................

looking forward to sending them home !!

lo and behold, in about 5 minutes from me sending that, I had a payment into my paypal account.... so I sent this...
    hi - thankyou !!

Will post them 1st class tomorrow, you should get them Friday. (or would you prefer me to send them to the buyer ?? I havent addressed them yet,and its no trouble, will save a few days)

    :)

so hopefully its now all over and done with. Thankyou all very very much for all your reassurance that I wasnt in the wrong !!!!

I'm glad it seems to be sorted, Trudi.

I think this seller should consider herself lucky that you were so amenable and tried so hard to resolve this, despite her lack of contact.
