Their Naan bread are very good value - about 55p for two, compared to well over a £1.00 at most other stores. Good taste too.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

ham with tomato coating, pastrami, meatballs, yogurts are lovely, chocolate cruch museli (kids love it), croissants.
The list is endless. We can spend £70+ at tesco (nothing exciting in trolley like clothes or dvds) same sized shop costs around £40 from Aldi0 -
Whenever I go to Aldi I get loads
Tomato Paste
Veg (that I can fit)
Soy Sauce etc
Pesto
Pickles
Diet Red Charge (not recommended for drinking 2L in 2 hours)
I don't buy any meat as I get Tesco delivery (student). Their tinned fish is equivalent value. Do not buy their Calvados, it is cheap at £12, but I would pay 4x for the "real stuff".
Mouthwash is ok as is toothpaste.
Do not buy the 4xbaked cookies although only 55p they are disgusting, would much rather prefer Waitrose even though they are £2.60 (and 1600kcals per pack). In the end it's all about comparison.
I used to buy my spices there but a deli opened up the road and sells Asian wholesale stuff which is cheaper. As with veg I tend to buy smaller items at my local greengrocer.Buy for value not cost.

Did a search, hunted through 6 pages..but couldnt find the thread- sorry!
We now have an aldi just down the road so going to give it a go, I mostly buy tea, squash & other drinks- any good bargains to be had or not any less than value/smartprice ranges??
Thanks in advance guysfamily mean more to me than money it's call a life0 -
Has no-one tried the ice cream, the toffee one is fantastic and it's not too expensive compared to the luxury brands. We like their snacks and crisps too, own brand Bailey's is amazing and we just found their premium oven chips which are pretty good for a frozen chip although I prefer home made from real potatoes. Cooked meats and cheese different and good value, pate for 49p Coleslaw is tasty and you get a huge tub for 49p. Yogurts are good, fruit and veg great value. We are supposed to be getting one nearby soon, they have just opened one fairly near so I can get there more often than I used to.0
