I have a shovel in the boot. Not many grit bins around any more. There used to be one where I live but haven't seen it for some years-do people steel these or does the council take them away? Really needed recently on the side roads. Years ago folk would be out scattering the ashes from coal fires!

Does that include the supermarket Grit bins ? Because I've seen them but not tried using them, also if I'm not mistaken they have bins at the stations as well. Are we okay to take from any of the grit bins we see ?

Contrary to popular belief they have no grit in them At least none have in my area, the council don't see them as priority at the moment.
