I have a shovel in the boot. Not many grit bins around any more. There used to be one where I live but haven't seen it for some years-do people steel these or does the council take them away? Really needed recently on the side roads. Years ago folk would be out scattering the ashes from coal fires!0

don't forget, if you carry a shovel that you can then take advantage of the yellow grit bins that are dotted around - contrary to popular belief they are for public use!!
Does that include the supermarket Grit bins ? Because I've seen them but not tried using them, also if I'm not mistaken they have bins at the stations as well. Are we okay to take from any of the grit bins we see ?

At least none have in my area, the council don't see them as priority at the moment. 0 -
The grit in these bins are meant for the roads they're located in.MissPomPoms wrote: »Does that include the supermarket Grit bins ?
