Hi
I really need a new phone, but I can't decide what to get...any advise would be greatly appreciated! I've spent ages looking online and still not made a decision
I currently have the Nokia 6300 and have always had Nokias. Like the simple menus, ease of use etc.
I like the idea of the iPhone with all the apps, instant email etc, but really don't think I could cope with the touch screen texting, so am thinking of something similar with a keypad. (also the iPhone is too expensive)
I'm on Orange PAYG at the moment, I'd like to stay with Orange or possibly Vodaphone, and would want a tariff that ideally costs no more than £25 a month, that includes at least 200 mins, 500 texts and internet usage.
Any of you experts have any suggestions please???
Thanks, and Happy New Year to you all!

Im no expert but I think i was previously in the same ballpark that you're now in.. I would say go for a Blackberry but you'll more often then not have to bump up to £30 a month. I'd say its worth it but i think this deal ive found is more suited for you anyway. (also, i know about the hundreds of cashback deals that could get you a blackberry for cheap but tbh im not a cashback person so i dont recommend them).
Anyway, the deal i found.. Nokia E72 (similar to the Blackberry).. im in love with it still from August 2009 and would have got it had it not been for the delay in releasing it.. for £25 at carphone warehouse.
t mob: 700 mins, unltd txt
orange: 400 mins, unltd txt
orange: 400 mins, unltd landline calls, 300 txt
o2: 400 mins, 500 txt
o2: 600 mins, unlts txt
voda: 75 mins, 250 txt, 500mb data
voda: 300 mins,, unltd txt
all the above plans are £25 and can be found on carphone warehouse's website. the only thing is they're all 24 months long. i think you'd like the phone, its a nokia, and its one of the all time great phones from them. it can handle push email but remember you'll need data so look for the cost of the extra charges if need be.0 -
try the link . they have some really good deals at the mo with free xboxs laptops etcComp wins
£25 worth of costume jewels and a plaq for mothers day
debt £7374:eek::(
loans/goods hp £5000
total £10375

Thanks both. I'm now considering the Blackberry Bold 9700 if I can find a good deal! I have this theory that chocolate slows down the ageing process.... It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance?

I'd like at least 200 mins, 500 texts and the internet/blackberry email included, and preferably an 18 month contract - best i can find at the mo is £30 a month on vodaphone for 300 mins, unlimited texts and 500mb internet, but that's 24 month contract.
As I'm on Orange PAYG, do you think it is worth me phoning them to see if they can do me a deal? I have this theory that chocolate slows down the ageing process.... It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance?

I'm trying to upgrade myself at the moment and I am useless..
But, noting the choice of phone you are after - and who you support
- son has had the iphone for about a year, loves it and it gives him all the gunner scores when he's at work! He loves it! And now I don't have to text him the results every Saturday! If you can afford it, go for it! Genie

Becuase you're on orange PAYG you can call up orange sales and tell them you were told that if you switch to a contract you'll be eligible for some perks/extras. Tell them you're looking for a BB deal and roughly what you want.
You'll basically be offered one of their panther deals. Thats how I got the £15 deal i mentioned earlier (panther 20, switched from PAYG to contract, 24m..). I'd imagine that you'd maybe need to pay out a lil more if you want the new BB 9700.. you could possible get something between 25-30£ though, would be awesome if you could gety it for £25, i got it for £30 (Panther 40 w/ 9700).
You're in a good position being on orange PAYG though.. and btw i called tmobile earlier to see if they could come close to orange's one which i was offered for £15, they could only do less minutes, unltd txt, unltd net for £22.. so it was v well worth the chitchat.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes!0
